Open the page, press F12, press Ctrl+Shift+P in DevTools, search for the command, and select it. Chrome documents this command for capturing content beyond the visible viewport. Capture the full page with Chrome DevTools
- Open the webpage in Chrome and let it load.
- Open DevTools. Press F12. If that shortcut is unavailable, open Chrome’s menu and choose More tools > Developer tools.
- Open the Command Menu. With DevTools open, press Ctrl+Shift+P.
- Run the full-page capture. Type Capture full size screenshot, then choose the matching command. The capture includes page content beyond the visible browser viewport.
- Check the result. Find the downloaded image in Chrome’s download location and inspect it, especially if the page has dynamic content.
The Command Menu runs DevTools commands, including screenshot actions. The exact wording or behavior can vary across Chrome versions.

When a full-page screenshot misses content
Give dynamic content a chance to load
Some pages load images or other content only as you scroll. Scroll through the page first to trigger loading, wait for it to settle, then capture again. This can help, but it does not guarantee that every lazy-loaded or virtualized page will appear. Inspect the image at the top, middle and bottom.
Check whether the content is in a scrolling panel
A page may contain a separate panel with its own scrollbar. A whole-document screenshot and a capture of that independently scrolling panel are different tasks. Check whether the panel’s content appears in the result; do not assume the full-page command will capture every panel state.

Embedded PDFs and custom scrolling
GoFullPage’s FAQ says its extension cannot capture some PDF documents and some pages where custom JavaScript controls scrolling. Those caveats apply to that extension; they do not establish a universal limitation of Chrome DevTools. GoFullPage FAQ
Troubleshooting
- The command does not appear: Confirm that DevTools is open and that you pressed Ctrl+Shift+P with DevTools focused. Search for Capture full size screenshot. Chrome’s labels and behavior may differ by version.
- The image shows only part of the page: Confirm you selected the full-size command rather than a visible-area capture. If content is loaded on scroll, scroll through the page, wait, and capture again.
- Images or sections are missing: Check whether they load only after scrolling or belong to a separate scrolling panel. Verify the result rather than assuming the capture includes all interactive content.
- A PDF or unusual page does not capture as expected: Try another capture route. Some PDF documents and custom-scroll pages are specifically listed as limitations for the GoFullPage extension; that is not proof that all capture methods fail on them.
- You are considering an extension: Verify its current Chrome Web Store listing, developer identity, requested permissions, privacy policy and export formats before installing. GoFullPage’s site indicates that, as of Sep. 1, 2026, it temporarily pointed users to a beta extension listing; this is a reason to verify the live listing, not evidence of a security issue.
