Make can orchestrate a screenshot workflow, but it does not itself provide a general-purpose browser that logs into arbitrary web apps. Use Make’s HTTP app to call a browser-rendering service, give that service an authorized reusable logged-in session, and route its returned image data to storage. Whether this works depends on the app’s authentication rules and whether the browser can reach it.
How the Make workflow works
The scenario has three parts: Make sends a request, a browser service opens the page using saved authentication state, and Make sends the resulting image to its destination. Make recommends its HTTP app when a service does not have a ready-made integration; its documentation covers API connections and credentials, not logging into arbitrary web apps itself. - Confirm access and reachability. Verify that you are authorized to automate the account, and determine whether the app is reachable from the browser service. Note whether sign-in involves SSO, MFA, device trust, or an internal network.
- Establish reusable browser authentication. Configure an authenticated browser profile or equivalent saved browser state with an authorized account. Browserless documents loading saved state before rendering; Playwright documents saving and reusing browser authentication state. Compatibility depends on the app’s session lifetime and authentication rules. Browserless: Authenticated Profiles · Playwright: Authentication
- Have Make call the screenshot API. Add the HTTP app to the scenario and configure a POST request for the browser service’s screenshot endpoint. Map the target URL and capture settings, such as full-page mode or a selector. Browserless documents a REST screenshot endpoint that returns image data. Exact module fields and response handling depend on the service and must be checked in its documentation. Browserless: Screenshot API
- Route and check the result. Send the returned image data to the chosen storage or attachment step. Configure it as binary/image content as required by the destination, then inspect the output to ensure it shows the authenticated page rather than a login screen or error.

One capture request
When the task is to open a page, render it, and capture it, a screenshot REST API is the simplest fit. Browserless documents a one-request REST API with full-page and targeted capture options. Browserless: REST APIs · Browserless: Screenshot API

Use a supported authenticated profile or reusable browser state when the account and app permit it. Treat the state as a credential: anyone who obtains a valid session may gain access without knowing the password. A saved state is a capability, not a guarantee that a particular SSO, MFA, or device-trust flow will accept it. Browserless: Authenticated Profiles · Playwright: Authentication

Interactive or conditional pages
If the page requires multiple actions, waits based on changing content, or branching logic, use browser control with Playwright or Puppeteer rather than assuming a single screenshot request is enough. Browserless documents WebSocket browser connections for those libraries. Browserless: OpenAPI overview
Apps on a private network
Check the browser’s network location before building the scenario. Make’s On-premise agent documentation describes using its HTTP Agent to connect to an application API; it does not establish that a remote browser service can reach an internal web page. The browser must run somewhere with an authorized route to the target. Make: On-premise agent

Protect credentials and screenshot data
- Use Make’s credential handling for API keys or Basic Auth where supported instead of placing secrets in ordinary scenario text. Make documents keychain storage for these HTTP-app credential types. Make: Keys and certificates
- Restrict access to shared connections and scenarios to people who need it; Make notes that connections are managed within the team. Make: Connect an application
- Keep saved browser state out of logs and ordinary scenario fields. Limit who can retrieve or renew it, and revoke it when no longer needed.
- Set destination permissions and retention with the possibility of confidential account data in mind. Capture only the page or region needed.
- Do not treat a successful HTTP response as proof that the intended page was captured. Browserless notes that blank captures, CAPTCHA pages, and access-denied responses can indicate that a site blocks automation. Browserless: Screenshot API
Troubleshoot common failures
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Screenshot shows a login page | The saved session is missing, expired, revoked, or not accepted by the app. | Verify the profile or saved state is loaded before navigation, then renew it through an authorized sign-in flow. Check whether SSO, MFA, device trust, or app policy requires a different supported method. |
| Blank image or access-denied/CAPTCHA page | The site may block automation or the browser may not be reaching the expected page. | Inspect the captured page itself and the service response; confirm the URL and access rules. Do not infer success solely from the HTTP status. Browserless: Screenshot API |
| Request cannot reach an internal app | The external browser service may not share the app’s private network. | Confirm where the browser runs and what network path it has. Make’s HTTP Agent connection to an application API does not, by itself, provide a remote browser with access to private pages. Make: On-premise agent |
| Make receives data the destination cannot save as an image | The HTTP response may not be mapped or interpreted as binary/image data for the next module. | Check the screenshot API’s response format and the destination module’s expected input; test the routed file rather than assuming the mapping is correct. |
| Capture is incomplete or the wrong region | Viewport, full-page, selector, or page-readiness settings may not match the page. | Choose the intended capture mode and verify any selector or readiness setting supported by the API. Or skip the browser setup
ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server. Its one-call API is an alternative when you do not want to configure a browser service and saved profile yourself; this call captures a public URL and does not sign into a password-protected app:
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for authenticated-request options and capture settings. ScreenshotNeo accepts cookie/consent banners and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; those steps can be turned off. Bot checks, blank pages, failed loads, timeouts, and cache hits are not billed, and responses identify the page verdict and billing status. Its MCP server lets AI agents use take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf. The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots per month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can Make itself log into any password-protected web app and take a screenshot?
No general-purpose browser-login capability is established in Make’s documentation. This workflow uses Make to call an external browser-rendering service.
Will a saved browser session work with every SSO or MFA setup?
No. It depends on the app’s session lifetime and authentication rules; reusable browser state does not guarantee compatibility.
Rank #4
Can Make’s On-premise agent make a cloud screenshot browser see an internal page?
Not by itself. The browser’s own network placement and route to the private app must be confirmed.
