Set full_screen: true in your HTMLCSStoImage request to capture the whole page: its full-screen process scrolls through the document, which can trigger lazy-loaded images. If images are still missing, add a short ms_delay; if you control the page’s JavaScript, use render_when_ready and call ScreenshotReady() when the content is ready.
Capture the full page first
For a public webpage, pass its fully qualified address in url and enable full_screen. HTMLCSStoImage describes this option as capturing the page’s entire height, with a scroll-through intended to trigger lazy-loaded elements. See the vendor’s full_screen documentation and URL-to-image guide.

Full-screen capture handles page coverage and scrolling; it does not guarantee every site’s images will load within the render’s available time. Inspect the resulting image for missing images or placeholders before relying on it.

Use a fixed delay for a simple timing buffer
Add ms_delay to pause before the image is generated. The HTMLCSStoImage FAQ suggests starting at 500 milliseconds and adjusting as needed. A delay is time-based: it gives assets more time, but it does not check whether a particular image has finished loading. Increase it only when the output shows that more time is needed, since a longer pause also adds render time. See the FAQ and parameter reference.

Use the readiness callback when you control the page
If your page’s JavaScript can determine when its images and other required content are ready, set render_when_ready: true and have the page call ScreenshotReady() at that point. This gives page code control over the readiness signal instead of relying only on a fixed pause. The callback is useful only when you can modify or otherwise control the page code. The vendor explains both wait approaches in its guide to waiting for a page to finish rendering.
Set a maximum wait deliberately
max_wait_ms is a separate maximum-wait setting, documented with values from 500 to 10,000 milliseconds. It sets a limit on the wait window; it is not a promise that every external image will load. Choose a value that allows for the assets you need without making every capture wait unnecessarily long. Check the current parameter reference for the documented range.

These settings solve different problems. Keep full_screen when you need full-page coverage; add a wait strategy to address timing, rather than treating a delay or callback as a substitute for scrolling.
Troubleshoot missing images
- Only images below the fold are absent: confirm that
full_screenis enabled. A viewport-only capture does not provide the full-page scroll-through associated with lazy loading. - Some images are still blank or placeholders: add
ms_delay, start at the FAQ’s suggested 500 ms, inspect the result, and increase only as needed. - A fixed delay is inconsistent: if you control the page, use
render_when_readyand callScreenshotReady()only after the required content is ready. - The page is slow or an external resource never finishes: do not assume that a larger
max_wait_msguarantees success. It limits the wait window; inspect the capture and adjust the timing strategy based on the result.

Does full-screen capture guarantee that every lazy-loaded image appears?
No. The scroll-through is intended to trigger lazy loading, but the documentation does not guarantee that every site’s implementation will finish within the available render timing.
