Choose a visible-screen, region, element, or full-page capture based on what the slide needs to show, then inspect the saved image for private details and legibility before sharing it.
Choose the capture scope for the slide
Start by deciding what the client needs to understand. A single-screen image is usually easier to read than a long page; use a full-page capture only when the complete page is important.

- Visible page: captures the browser page currently in view. Use it for a focused screen or dashboard section.
- Region: captures a chosen area, useful when only one chart, panel, or section belongs on the slide.
- Element: captures a specific interface component when the browser’s developer tools support it.
- Full page: captures content extending beyond the current viewport. Check the result carefully for missing or awkwardly rendered content.
Capture the page in Firefox
Firefox’s built-in screenshot tool supports visible-page, region, and full-page captures, with options to copy or download the result. Mozilla’s support instructions were last updated June 15, 2026: Firefox screenshots: take screenshots.
- Open the app page and confirm that the correct authenticated account and content are visible.
- Choose the capture scope that matches the slide: visible page, region, or full page.
- Use the screenshot tool’s copy or download action to move the image into your presentation workflow.
- Open the resulting image separately and check it at the size it will appear on the slide.
For a whole-page or individual-element capture, Firefox Developer Tools also provides screenshot options. Its :screenshot console helper supports full-page and CSS-selector captures, with optional delay, filename, clipboard, and device-pixel-ratio controls. Protect account and customer information
A logged-in page may contain details beyond the content intended for the client: customer names, account identifiers, notifications, or other private information. Review the captured file—not just the browser window—before inserting or sharing it.
- Crop unrelated browser or page content when it distracts from the slide’s point.
- Obscure confidential details in an image editor before sharing. Do not treat a blur effect as proof that the original information is securely or irreversibly hidden.
- Check the image at presentation size. If text is too small, capture a tighter region or use multiple focused images rather than shrinking a long full-page capture.
- Keep the original capture only where it fits the client’s data-handling requirements.
When an extension may help
A dedicated extension may offer annotation or export controls that the browser’s built-in capture does not. OpenCapture’s project repository describes full-page, viewport, and region capture; cropping, arrows, rectangles, blur, watermarking, PNG/PDF export, and local processing. Before using any extension with a logged-in page, check its current permissions and privacy information. A project’s statement that processing happens locally should not be generalized to other extensions.
