The steps below are for Microsoft’s OneNote Web Clipper: choose Full Page, then Clip to save the screenshot image to OneNote. Chromebook’s built-in screenshot tool captures the screen, a window, or a selected region; Google does not document it as a way to capture below-the-fold content in one image.
Capture a full page with OneNote Web Clipper
- Open the webpage in Chrome on your Chromebook.
- Select the OneNote Web Clipper icon in the browser toolbar. Sign in or approve requested permissions if prompted.
- Choose Full Page. This captures the current webpage as a screenshot image. Choose Region instead if you only need a selected area.
- If desired, open the Location menu to choose a OneNote notebook section and add a note.
- Select Clip to send the capture to OneNote.
These are Microsoft’s documented extension steps. They do not guarantee availability on every Chromebook model or managed school device: an administrator’s policy or Chrome extension availability may prevent installing or running the clipper.

Why the built-in Chromebook screenshot is different
Google’s Screen Capture tool offers full-screen, partial, and window screenshots. Open it from the quick settings area or Settings, or press the screenshot key. If your Chromebook has no screenshot key, Google lists Shift + Ctrl + Show windows as the shortcut. Captures save to Downloads by default and are also copied to the clipboard.

If the clipper is unavailable
- The extension icon is missing: Check whether OneNote Web Clipper is installed and enabled in Chrome. On a managed Chromebook, ask the administrator whether extensions are permitted.
- Clipper requests sign-in or permissions: Complete the prompt if you want to use the OneNote destination; otherwise, cancel and use an approved capture method.
- You only need part of the page: In OneNote Web Clipper, choose Region rather than Full Page.
- You need a file in Downloads: The built-in Chromebook tool saves its screen capture there. OneNote Web Clipper’s documented flow sends the clip to OneNote, so it is not the same local-download workflow.
Other extension notes
Evernote’s Web Clipper describes full-page or selected-area screenshots, but Evernote’s operating-system requirements page says, “Evernote no longer supports Chromebooks.” That makes it a poor choice to rely on as a Chromebook destination.
A third-party Chrome Web Store listing for “Clipper — Full Page Screenshot” describes top-to-bottom capture with image or PDF export and says it was updated September 4, 2026. Extension features and availability can change; inspect the current listing and permissions before installing. The listing’s developer statements are not independent verification.
