To capture a full webpage, use your browser’s built-in full-page screenshot if it has one: Microsoft Edge offers Capture full page, and Firefox can capture full webpages. In Chrome, install a full-page capture extension such as GoFullPage from the Chrome Web Store, open the page, and use the extension’s capture control. The exact result depends on the page and the tool: check the saved file to confirm that it includes the content you need.
Choose the right way to capture the page
A full-page screenshot extends beyond the part of a webpage visible in the browser window. The best option depends first on your browser and then on the kind of file you need. You may want one long image, a PDF, or an image you can copy and annotate. Browser and extension features can change, so check the current interface and store listing before installing an extension.

Edge and Firefox have documented built-in methods, so an extension is not required in every browser. For Chrome, GoFullPage is one option listed in the Chrome Web Store; its release history included version 8.9 dated September 24, 2026. That is a listing detail, not a measure of reliability or capture performance. Microsoft’s Edge Screenshot page, Mozilla’s Firefox screenshot instructions, and the GoFullPage Chrome Web Store listing describe the respective options.
Capture a full webpage in Microsoft Edge
- Open the webpage you want to save in Edge.
- Press Ctrl+Shift+S to open the Screenshot tool.
- Choose Capture full page.
- Review the captured result and save or copy it using the controls Edge presents.
Microsoft describes this option as capturing the webpage beyond what is currently visible. If the page has content that appears only after scrolling, inspect the result before relying on it; the available instructions do not establish how every dynamic page behaves.

Capture a full webpage in Firefox
- Open the page in Firefox.
- Use Firefox Screenshots to choose a full-page capture.
- Review the preview, then copy or save the image.

Capture a full webpage in Chrome with an extension
- Open the GoFullPage listing in the Chrome Web Store, or find another extension from the official store.
- Before installing, check that the listing supports your current browser version and review its permissions and privacy disclosures. Do not assume an extension’s permissions are limited to taking screenshots.
- Install the extension, then open the webpage you want to capture.
- Use the extension’s capture control and wait for it to finish processing the page.
- Review the captured result and use the current save or export controls to keep the format you need.
The store listing is the place to confirm the extension’s current compatibility and available controls. GoFullPage’s listing records version 8.9 dated 2026-09-24 and version 8.8 dated 2026-09-10; these entries establish release history only, not that a particular page will capture correctly.
Choose an output and protect page contents
Long image, PDF, or clipboard
Decide whether you need a long image for an archive or visual reference, a PDF for a document workflow, or a copy-to-clipboard action for immediate use. The exact formats and export controls vary by tool and may change. A Chrome Web Store listing for Full Page Screen Capture advertises PNG, JPG, and PDF exports, along with annotation and redaction. Those are claims made in the listing, not independently verified results; check the current listing and output before depending on them.

Privacy and sharing
A screenshot can expose information that is easy to overlook in a long page: account details, private messages, internal links, or personal data farther down the page. Review the entire capture before sharing it. If the page contains sensitive material, consider whether installing an extension with the permissions shown in its listing is appropriate, and avoid uploading or distributing the image unless you have permission.

A full-page capture is not simply a guarantee that every pixel or interactive state will be reproduced. Pages may load content as you scroll, change after a delay, keep a header fixed, or put content in an independently scrolling panel. Browser-internal pages and other restricted surfaces may also behave differently from ordinary websites. The cited browser instructions and store listings do not establish consistent behavior for all such cases, so treat the saved capture as something to inspect rather than assume complete.
- Lazy-loaded content: Images or sections may appear only as the page is scrolled. Check whether they are present in the result.
- Sticky headers and floating controls: A fixed element may appear in a way that differs from the live page. Look for repeated or obstructive elements in the output.
- Nested scroll areas: A panel with its own scrollbar may not be captured like the main document. Inspect it separately if its contents matter.
- Dynamic content: Ads, live feeds, animations, and content loaded after a delay can change during capture. A screenshot represents a particular capture moment, not an ongoing page.
Troubleshoot missing or incomplete screenshots
The page is cut off
Confirm that you selected the full-page mode rather than a visible-area or selection capture. If the result still ends early, try the browser’s built-in method or another extension and compare results. Do not assume that switching tools will fix every page-specific limitation.

Images or sections are missing
Wait for the page to finish its initial load before starting the capture. If the site loads material only after scrolling, check whether the tool has included it; if not, a full-page capture may not be suitable for that page. The available source material does not establish a universal fix for lazy loading.
A panel’s contents are absent
Check whether the missing material sits inside a nested scroll area rather than the document itself. A page-level capture and a panel’s own scrolling region are different capture targets, and the cited instructions do not promise that extensions will stitch all internal scrollers into the result.
The extension will not install or its controls differ
Return to the current Chrome Web Store listing and check its compatibility, permissions, and instructions. Store interfaces can change; follow the controls shown in the current listing and extension rather than relying on an older walkthrough.

The screenshot contains private information
Do not share the file until you have reviewed the whole page, including content below the fold. If the tool offers redaction, verify the result carefully; an extension’s store description alone is not proof that sensitive information has been removed safely.
