To capture a scrolling webpage with Screenshot Machine, send a curl request to its screenshot API and set dimension to a width followed by xfull, such as 1366xfull. Screenshot Machine documents an HTTP API and a Bash curl example; the available documentation does not establish a separate ScreenshotMachine CLI command.
Capture a full page from the shell
You need a Screenshot Machine customer key and the complete URL of the page. Replace the placeholders below with your own values; do not put a real key in a public script or repository.

What the dimension means
1366xfull requests a capture 1366 pixels wide and full page height. The vendor also documents 1024xfull as an example. Choose a width suited to the intended use: a desktop-width capture is not the same layout as a phone-sized capture.

Allow time for content to load
Screenshot Machine documents a default delay of 200 ms and permitted delay values of 0, 200, 400, 600, 800, 1000, then 2000 through 10000 ms in 1000 ms increments. For a long page with images or animations, its documentation suggests trying 2000 ms or more. This is a wait before capture, not a guarantee that every deferred image, animation, or other dynamic element will finish loading.
Choose settings for the page you need
Screenshot Machine documents these optional settings for its API. Check its current parameter documentation before relying on a particular value or behavior.

Check the saved screenshot
After curl finishes, open the output image and inspect the whole page—not just the top. Look for missing lower sections, unfinished animations, repeated or incomplete content, and a width that produces the layout you intended. If content is absent, increase the documented delay within its allowed values and try again. A delay alone may not load content that appears only after a visitor scrolls or interacts with the page.
Troubleshoot common problems
- The request is rejected: Confirm that you supplied your own customer key and a complete, valid page URL. Check the current API documentation for required parameter names and account guidance.
- The output file is missing or unusable: Check the shell’s curl error output and verify that the response is an image rather than an API error. Confirm the destination directory is writable and that the output filename has an extension matching the requested format.
- The screenshot stops before the bottom: Confirm that the height is written as
fullafter the width, such as1366xfull, then inspect the resulting image. Do not confuse a full-page request with a guarantee that every site’s dynamically loaded content is captured. - Images or animations are incomplete: Try a longer supported delay, such as 2000 ms, and compare the result. The setting adds waiting time; it cannot ensure every deferred element is ready.
- The page layout looks wrong: Adjust the width or use the documented desktop, phone, or tablet device setting that matches the layout you want to capture.
Keep API credentials private
A customer key is required. Avoid placing it in public code or exposing it through a public-facing website. Screenshot Machine’s Python example says the key is available in the user profile after registration and advises using a secret phrase when calls are made from publicly available websites; check its current account security guidance before deploying an integration. Its language examples also demonstrate saving the image response to a local file: Python example and Node.js example.

Does `1366xfull` capture infinite-scroll content?
It requests a full-height page capture at the specified width. The documented setting does not guarantee that content loaded only after scrolling or other interaction will be included.
