Capture the page after triggering its lazy-loaded images

Open the website in Chrome and open DevTools. If you need a particular mobile or desktop layout, turn on Device Mode and choose the relevant viewport or device configuration.

Let the initial page content load. Then scroll down in increments, pausing where needed. This brings offscreen images near the viewport so the browser can request them.

Inspect areas where images appeared late. If an image is missing, check it in the page or the Elements panel. An image’s

In Device Mode, open More options and select Capture a full size screenshot. Chrome saves an image of the page beyond the visible viewport. Use Capture screenshot when you want only the current viewport.

Review the saved image for blank image areas, layout shifts, overlays, sticky elements, or content that appeared only after interaction. If the page adds content while you scroll, continue through it, check the new areas, and capture again.
Chrome documents the full-size capture option, while the scroll-and-review steps are a practical way to prompt deferred resources. The capture command itself is not documented as forcing every site’s custom lazy-loading logic to run.

Why a full-page screenshot can still have missing images
Lazy loading defers non-critical resources—often images outside the viewport—until they are close to being needed. As a result, the initial page load can finish while lower images remain unfetched. Scrolling helps trigger ordinary viewport-based lazy loading, but custom scripts may require a particular interaction or may keep adding content.
Do not use the window load event as an all-images-ready signal. If a specific image matters, inspect that image’s complete property and verify the rendered result visually. A completed image can still be an unexpected or broken asset, so the final screenshot itself is the practical check.
Choose the DevTools capture that matches your goal

Reproduce a first-visit or cold-cache load
If you are investigating what a visitor sees without cached resources, Chrome’s Network documentation describes disabling cache and using Empty Cache And Hard Reload while DevTools is open. This can help reproduce a cold-load condition; clearing the cache is not required for an ordinary full-page screenshot. See Chrome’s network activity guide.
Troubleshoot common capture problems

Images near the bottom are blank: Scroll farther down, pause for requests and rendering, then inspect the area and recapture. Some pages load content progressively.

The page says it loaded, but images are absent: The load event does not establish that lazy images have loaded. Check the particular image and review the rendered page.

Content changes between scroll and capture: Repeat the scroll-and-review pass immediately before capture. Sites that mutate or append content may need more than one pass.

The page looks different from a returning visit: For a cold-load diagnostic, use Network’s cache controls and hard reload with DevTools open; do not clear cache unless that is the condition you want to test.
