Set full_screen=true in an HTMLCSStoImage request to capture the page’s full scrollable height instead of only the visible viewport. The flag defaults to false. Choose the viewport width for the layout you want, then send the request to the hosted renderer.
Capture a full page from a URL
HTMLCSStoImage’s full-page option is full_screen. For a URL screenshot, set it to true alongside the page URL. The service’s full-screen documentation describes this as capturing the entire scrollable height rather than just the viewport.

Set the viewport and output options
Choose width for the page layout
The viewport determines the browser layout and responsive breakpoint. HTMLCSStoImage documents a default viewport of 1920 × 1080. If you need a different viewport, set both viewport_width and viewport_height; the reference says both are required when specifying either dimension. The maximum documented viewport width is 6000 CSS pixels. See the viewport reference.
For example, to request a narrower desktop layout, add the dimensions to the form request:

Choose format and density
The parameter reference lists PNG, JPG, WebP, and PDF as output options. Select the format supported by your integration and destination; the full-screen flag governs page height, not format. device_scale controls pixel density. The API also documents ms_delay and render_when_ready for pages that need additional time to render. These are configuration options, not a guarantee that every page’s delayed content will load. Consult the API reference for accepted parameter values.
Capture a section instead of the whole page
If you only need one component or section, use the selector parameter to target an element rather than rendering a very long page. The vendor documentation says selector capture may be faster and produce a smaller file for very long pages, but provides no benchmark timings or file-size figures. Check access and page behavior
The hosted renderer needs network access to the URL. It cannot access a developer’s local localhost page. For a protected page you control, the documentation describes custom request headers or a configured proxy; the service does not perform an interactive login flow automatically. The FAQ documents block_consent_banners for dismissing most cookie popups on URL screenshots. “Most” matters: do not assume it will handle every consent interface. Check the FAQ for current behavior.

Troubleshoot common problems
- The image shows only the first screen: Confirm that the request includes
full_screen=true. If omitted, the documented default isfalse, which captures the viewport. - The layout is at the wrong size or breakpoint: Set both
viewport_widthandviewport_height, then adjust the width to the layout you want. Full-page capture can make the final image taller than the viewport height. - The renderer cannot reach the page: Use a publicly reachable URL. A hosted renderer cannot access your machine’s
localhost; for a protected page, investigate custom headers or a configured proxy. - A login wall or bot check blocks the capture: The renderer does not complete an interactive login flow automatically, and some sites block automated access. A header or proxy may help only when you control and are authorized to access the page; it cannot guarantee access.
- Some content is missing: For content that appears after initial load, the API documents
ms_delayandrender_when_ready. Adjust them for the page’s behavior and verify the returned image; no particular setting is guaranteed to work on every site. - The image is unwieldy: If you need only one section, target it with
selectorrather than capturing the entire scrollable page. - A cookie notice remains visible: Try
block_consent_banners, while recognizing that the FAQ says it dismisses most, not all, cookie popups.
