This captures content beyond the visible viewport. For the visible screen only, choose Capture screenshot instead.
Capture the whole page
- Open the page in Chromium and open DevTools.
- In DevTools’ top action bar, click Toggle device toolbar.
- In the Device toolbar, open More options.
- Select Capture a full size screenshot. Chromium captures the page, including content outside the viewport.
The Chrome for Developers guide Simulate mobile devices with device mode documents this option for capturing the whole page.

Choose the right capture option
| Menu option | What it captures |

| Capture a full size screenshot | The whole page, including content beyond the viewport. |
Both options are in the Device toolbar’s More options menu. Use the full-size option when you need one image of the entire page rather than just the portion currently on screen.
Add a simulated device frame if needed
A device frame is optional and is separate from full-page capture. In Device-specific mode, select a device and enable Show device frame before capturing if you want the screenshot presented inside a device outline. You do not need a frame to capture a full page; see the Chrome for Developers Device Mode guide.

Device Mode simulates a mobile experience from a desktop; it does not run the page on a real phone. Treat its appearance as an approximation, and check an actual device if device-specific behavior matters. The Chrome for Developers documentation describes this limitation in its Device Mode guide.
Other DevTools screenshot commands
The Command Menu opens with Ctrl+Shift+P on Windows or Linux, or Cmd+Shift+P on Mac. It can help you navigate DevTools, but the documented full-page procedure is through the Device toolbar’s More options menu.

Capture area screenshot is for selecting a region, not for capturing the full page. Chrome’s Command Menu documentation notes that area capture does not work while DevTools is undocked: Open the Command Menu.
What to check when the result is unexpected
- The screenshot ends at the visible screen: Choose Capture a full size screenshot, not Capture screenshot.
- You need a device outline: Switch to Device-specific mode, select a device, and turn on Show device frame before capturing.
- You are trying to capture a region: Use Capture area screenshot; it is a selection workflow, not a full-page capture. If DevTools is undocked, redock it before using area capture.
- Page content changes or appears incomplete: A full-size capture does not guarantee identical rendering for every site. The documentation does not establish how every lazy-loaded image, animation, sticky element, or site-specific script will appear in one capture. Inspect the result and, when mobile behavior is important, verify it on an actual device.
