To stop YouTube TV from renewing, cancel the membership in the Google account that holds it: on a browser, open YouTube TV, select your profile photo, then go to Settings > Membership > Manage > Cancel membership and finish the prompts. Confirm the membership page shows the cancellation and note its end date. Cancel before your next billing date—or before a free trial ends—to avoid the next renewal or trial conversion.
Cancel YouTube TV from the account that pays for it
- Sign in to the Google account with the YouTube TV membership.
- In a web browser, open YouTube TV and select your profile photo.
- Go to Settings > Membership > Manage > Cancel membership, then complete the cancellation prompts. These are YouTube’s published computer instructions: Cancel or pause your YouTube TV membership.
- Return to the membership page. Confirm it reflects the cancellation and record the end date shown there.
YouTube TV says it automatically charges members at the start of each billing cycle until they cancel. Removing a payment card or deleting the app does not cancel the membership. For billing details, see Update billing & payments for YouTube TV.

Cancel before a free trial converts to paid membership
If you are on a trial, cancel before the end date shown in your account to avoid conversion to a paid membership. Trial length varies, so check the membership settings rather than assuming a standard duration. YouTube’s guidance is in Sign up for a YouTube TV free trial.

What happens to access and recordings after cancellation
Cancellation generally stops future renewal, not access immediately. YouTube TV says you can keep watching until the current paid or trial period ends. After that, recordings expire after 21 days. If you need access removed sooner, YouTube says to contact support; see its cancellation guidance and YouTube TV library and recordings information.

Add-on networks may be removed individually, so check the membership page for their status rather than assuming every add-on follows the same end date.
Pausing is not a way to prevent future billing
A pause is temporary: YouTube TV’s general instructions allow a pause of up to six months, after which the membership resumes at the standard monthly price. The resume date becomes the new billing date. During the pause, access and new recordings stop; existing recordings are subject to a nine-month expiration limit. Check who bills you before investigating a charge
The cancellation and pause options depend on how the membership is billed. Check the bill or transaction record to identify the route:

If a charge appears after you cancel
First check whether it is pending or completed
Look at Google Payments or your card statement. A pending authorization is not necessarily a completed charge; it can be a card-validation attempt. YouTube TV Help says an unsuccessful pending authorization may resolve or disappear within 1–14 business days. If it remains beyond that period, contact your payment provider. Check the account and seller behind a completed charge
Review YouTube purchases and Google Pay activity, then check other Google accounts you use. The transaction could relate to another account’s YouTube TV membership, another YouTube paid membership, a separate Google service, or an authorization hold. Ask for help through the billing route
YouTube says it does not refund or credit partial billing periods. If a mobile carrier or internet provider billed you, YouTube directs you to that provider for refund questions because the provider’s policies apply. Whether any charge qualifies for a refund depends on the account record and billing route; do not assume cancellation itself triggers one. See YouTube TV’s refund policy information.
