After that, monthly games claimed through Plus and other subscription benefits become unavailable, while discounted purchases and redeemed packs or avatars remain yours.
Cancel PlayStation Plus on the web or console
Use the account that owns the subscription. The exact labels can vary by region and software version; if a menu does not match, use the current PlayStation support page for your country.

On the web
- Sign in to Account Management.
- Select Subscription from the left menu.
- Select Cancel Subscription next to PlayStation Plus and follow the prompts.
On PS5
- Open Settings > Users and Accounts > Account > Payment and Subscriptions > Subscriptions > PlayStation Plus.
- Choose Cancel Subscription and follow the prompts.
On PS4
The cancellation guide lists PlayStation Plus > Manage Membership > Subscription, then Cancel Subscription. Sony’s US terms also list Settings > Account Management > Account Information > PlayStation Subscriptions. If neither route matches your console, check the support instructions for your region.
Check when your benefits end
After canceling, open Subscription in Account Management and check the next payment or expiration date displayed for your account. Sony says benefits continue until the end of the previously purchased payment period. Its US terms put it this way: “You can continue to use the benefits until your subscription or trial period expires.” (Sony Interactive Entertainment, PS Plus Usage Terms.)

If you change your mind, Sony says you can select Reactivate Subscription before the next payment date. A trial may roll into a paid subscription, so check the date shown on your account. Sony’s US terms say canceling stops future charges and that payments already made are not refunded under those terms, subject to applicable local purchase-cancellation rights. For a refund question, consult the refund policy or support route for your region; canceling renewal alone does not establish refund eligibility.
What happens to games and other benefits after Plus ends?
The important distinction is how you got access to each game: a monthly claim, a catalog subscription, or a separate purchase. Sony’s PlayStation Plus games page says monthly games can be added to your library and played while you have an active plan; some catalog games also have an end date.

Before your paid period expires
- Write down the end date shown in Account Management; it is the date tied to your account and paid period.
- For a catalog game you want to keep playing, check both whether your tier includes its catalog and whether the title is still available in the service.
- Check a game’s Store listing before assuming online multiplayer will stop: requirements vary by game.
- Use PlayStation’s support page for your own country if cancellation labels or available benefits differ. Sony notes that services can vary by country or region.
