To stop Paramount+ or Max from renewing, first find the company billing the subscription, then cancel through that company’s account controls. Complete the cancellation flow and verify the canceled status or end date; deleting an app or simply stopping viewing does not stop renewal.
First, find who bills the subscription
The service name on your TV screen may not be the company charging you. A subscription can be billed directly by Paramount+ or Max, through an app store or another platform, or as part of an internet, mobile, TV, or membership bundle. Cancel with the biller—not necessarily with the streaming service.

For Max
Sign in at max.com/subscription, or open the Subscription page from your Max profile. Check the billing company shown there. You can also compare it with your bank or card statement, or ask your internet, mobile, or TV provider whether Max is included in a package. If Max does not show a cancellation option, another company may manage the subscription.
For Paramount+
Check the Paramount+ account and the payment statement to determine whether you subscribed directly or through a platform such as Apple, Google Play, Amazon, or Roku. The account screen is the best place to confirm the subscription; a statement descriptor can help identify the biller. If a third party bills you, Paramount+ says to follow that provider’s cancellation instructions.

Cancel through the billing company

Cancellation controls and deadlines can vary by country, plan, and provider. Follow the current instructions from the company shown as the biller; a service’s direct-account steps may not cancel a subscription managed elsewhere.
Verify cancellation and note when access ends
Do not treat an attempted click as proof that renewal is off. Return to the subscription screen and check that it shows a canceled status or an expiration date instead of an upcoming renewal. Keep any confirmation email. For direct Max billing, the appearance of Resume Your Subscription instead of Cancel Your Subscription indicates that the subscription is canceled, according to Max’s help page.

Canceling usually stops the next renewal rather than ending access immediately. Max says subscribers can continue streaming until the paid period expires. Paramount+’s US terms say direct cancellations generally take effect at the end of the current billing period, while trials end at the end of the trial. Use the end date and terms shown by your own service or billing provider, since third-party rules may differ.

Check the account status, the charge’s billing company, and any other accounts or email addresses you may have used to subscribe. Max lists an active subscription, multiple accounts, and a cancellation made too close to the billing date as possible explanations for an unexpected charge. It notes that some providers may require cancellation at least 24 hours before the next billing period; that is not a universal deadline, so check your own provider’s rule.

- If the subscription still shows as active or due to renew, complete cancellation with the biller shown in the account or on the statement.
- If it shows canceled, compare the charge date with the subscription’s end date and contact the company that billed the charge to ask about it.
- If Max is part of a bundle, ask the provider exactly what the package includes before making changes. Do not cancel an entire internet, mobile, TV, or membership package unless you intend to end that package too.
Do not assume a refund is automatic. Refund terms depend on the service, plan, region, and biller; Paramount+’s US terms generally exclude refunds of fees already paid, subject to legal and terms-based exceptions.
