The steps below reflect U.S. Paramount+ terms and Max help guidance; provider procedures and availability vary by country and billing arrangement.
First, find out who bills the subscription
The billing provider determines where cancellation must happen. A subscription bought directly from Paramount+ or Max is managed through that service; one billed by Apple, Google Play, Roku, a TV or mobile provider, or another partner must usually be canceled with that provider.

Check Max’s subscription screen
On Max, open the profile menu and select Subscription. On a TV, go to Settings, then Subscription. The screen identifies the provider. If you cannot access it, a bank or card statement may show the biller; your mobile, internet, or TV provider may also be able to identify a subscription billed through it. Check Paramount+ and third-party billing
For a direct Paramount+ subscription, start at paramountplus.com/account. If the account page does not offer the cancellation control, check whether the subscription was purchased through an app store or partner. Paramount’s U.S. terms say subscriptions billed by a third party must be canceled through that third party. Paramount+ U.S. Terms of Use and its subscription-plan help page explain the distinction.

Cancel Paramount+
If Paramount+ bills you directly
- Sign in and open paramountplus.com/account.
- Open the subscription or billing controls and select the option to cancel the recurring subscription.
- Complete any confirmation step shown, then check for a cancellation confirmation or an end date.
Under Paramount’s U.S. terms, cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. For a free trial, it takes effect at the trial’s end. A free trial or promotion covering the full subscription price converts to automatic billing at the end of the offer unless canceled before it ends. The cited terms do not establish a universal number of hours by which every Paramount+ subscriber must cancel, so check the renewal date and any offer-specific terms in your account.
If another provider bills you
Use that provider’s cancellation process. Deleting the Paramount+ app or changing your Paramount+ password does not, by itself, cancel a recurring subscription billed elsewhere.

Cancel Max
If Max bills you directly
- Go to max.com/subscription and sign in.
- Select Cancel Your Subscription.
- Confirm the cancellation and note the expiration date displayed.
Max says access continues until the subscription expires at the end of the billing period. If the subscription page does not show a cancellation option, check which provider is listed and cancel through that provider instead. Max states: “Deleting the Max app does not cancel your subscription.”

Cancel with the provider shown on the subscription screen. Max’s help materials list routes such as Apple, Google Play, Roku, Samsung, Prime Video Channels in certain countries, and other internet, mobile, or TV providers. The available route and steps depend on the provider and region; use the instructions for the biller actually listed on your account rather than assuming one platform’s process applies to everyone. Cancel early enough to avoid the next renewal
Cancel as soon as you decide to stop the service, rather than waiting until the renewal date. Max advises canceling before the next billing date. It also says some providers require cancellation at least 24 hours before the next billing period begins; that lead time varies by provider and is not a universal rule for every Max subscription—or for Paramount+.
For Paramount+, the cited U.S. terms require cancellation before renewal or before the end of a fully covered trial or promotion to avoid automatic billing, but do not specify a single advance-hours cutoff that applies to all subscriptions. Check the date and conditions shown by the service or billing provider, especially for a trial or offer.

Confirm the cancellation and troubleshoot a charge
Keep a record
- Check that the subscription shows canceled or displays a future expiration date.
- Save any confirmation email or take a screenshot of the status and end date.
- Keep in mind that cancellation may stop the next renewal without ending access immediately; the end date shown by the service or provider is the useful reference.
If Max charges you after you canceled
Max identifies several possible explanations: cancellation occurred too close to renewal for a provider’s cutoff, the subscription is still active, or a different account has another subscription. Check the status in both the Max account and the billing provider’s account, and compare the charge descriptor with the provider listed there. If Paramount+ charges you after you canceled
Start with the payment descriptor and identify which company processed the charge. Then check the subscription status with that provider and confirm whether the renewal date passed before cancellation took effect. The applicable billing company is the right place to ask about a charge; the cited Paramount+ terms do not promise that cancellation automatically produces a refund.
