To stop the next automatic wine shipment or charge, find your club’s next billing, order-placement and shipment dates, then submit a cancellation or pause through the channel its current policy requires—before its cutoff. There is no universal deadline. Save the confirmation and check your next payment statement; an order already processed or shipped may still be charged.
Find the deadline that applies to your account
Start with your account page and recent order emails. Note the next billing date, order-placement date and estimated shipment date: these may be different. Then check the current cancellation and pause terms for your specific membership. Look for the cutoff, the required submission channel, minimum shipment commitments, limits on skipped shipments and the treatment of orders already in process.

Choose a pause or a cancellation
Pause or skip a shipment
Choose this if you want to keep the membership but defer a delivery. Confirm how many shipments you can skip, when billing and deliveries resume, and whether club benefits continue during the pause. A pause may stop payments only while it is active; it does not necessarily cancel an order already processed.

Cancel the membership
Choose this if you want to end future renewals. Check whether a minimum number of shipments applies or whether the signup terms allow the club to reclaim a discount after early cancellation. Cancellation may prevent future orders without undoing one that has already been charged, processed or shipped.
Submit the request and keep proof
- Open your account or membership page. Find the plan, next billing date, next order-placement date and shipment status. If you cannot find them, check recent order emails.
- Read the current policy for your plan. Confirm the cutoff, required channel, minimum commitment, pause limits and whether an in-process shipment remains payable.
- Select the right action. Use the club’s pause or skip option to defer a shipment while keeping the membership; use cancellation to stop future renewals.
- Submit through the specified channel. Use the account flow, portal, email, phone or form required by the provider. If the cutoff is close, an immediate account workflow may be safer than a channel that takes time to process.
- Save confirmation. Keep the confirmation email, screenshot or reference number. For a phone request, note the date, time and details of the conversation. Check that your account status reflects the change.
- Review your next statement. If a charge appears after a timely cancellation, contact the provider with your saved proof. If the charge continues, follow the applicable dispute process with your card issuer or bank; an outcome or refund is not guaranteed.
If the next order is already in process
Contact the provider immediately and ask whether the order can still be stopped, but do not assume that canceling the subscription reverses the current order. Provider terms may leave an already processed or shipped box payable, even when future renewals are canceled. Ask the club to clarify the current shipment separately from the ongoing membership.

U.S. guidance on recurring subscription charges
The Federal Trade Commission’s September 2024 consumer guidance recommends following the company’s cancellation instructions, keeping a copy of the request and notes from conversations, monitoring payment statements, and contacting the credit or debit card company about continued charges. It also says consumers can report subscription problems to the FTC or a state attorney general. These steps do not guarantee a refund or dictate the outcome of a payment dispute. In an October 2024 announcement, the FTC said it received nearly 70 complaints per day on average in 2024 about negative-option and recurring-subscription practices, compared with 42 per day in 2021. Those are agency complaint figures, not wine-subscription-specific counts. FTC announcement.

The legal requirements that apply can depend on your location and circumstances. For a wine club’s immediate deadline and process, rely on the current terms for your own account rather than assuming a general rule applies.
