The short answer
There is no single GTA+ cancellation button or universal cutoff date. Rockstar’s rule is to cancel auto-renewal through the store where you first purchased GTA+. That store controls the billing date and the cancellation state. A free or promotional month therefore ends according to the date displayed in the original store account, not according to a date that applies to every GTA+ member.

Use this order of operations:
- Identify the account and storefront that started GTA+.
- Open that storefront’s subscription-management page.
- Cancel or disable auto-renewal.
- Confirm that the account shows cancellation and an end date or expires-on date.
- Claim any time-limited GTA+ benefits before membership ends.
Rockstar says you may cancel auto-renewal at any time through the original purchase store. The exact screen names differ between Rockstar Games Launcher, Steam, Epic Games, Microsoft/Xbox and PlayStation.

GTA+ is tied to the purchasing account and its billing platform. Being signed in to a different console, PC launcher or Rockstar account can make the subscription appear to be missing even when it is active elsewhere.

If you do not see GTA+ in one account, check the other platform accounts that may have been used to start it. Rockstar’s instructions are based on the original purchase store, not the device on which you happen to play today.
Your payment receipt is the quickest way to identify the correct route. The merchant name, account email and platform branding can distinguish a Microsoft charge from a Steam, Epic, PlayStation or Rockstar Launcher purchase. A bank statement may identify the payment processor but not always the exact in-game account, so match it with the receipt and subscription page.
Cancel GTA+ on each purchase route
Rockstar Games Launcher on PC
This route applies to GTA+ purchased through the Rockstar Games Launcher for GTAV Enhanced on PC.
- Open the Rockstar Games Launcher and sign in to the Rockstar account associated with the subscription.
- Select GTA+ in the Launcher.
- Choose Manage GTA+.
- Follow the cancellation or auto-renewal controls shown for the subscription.
- Return to the management screen and check that renewal is disabled and that an end date is displayed.
If GTA+ is not shown, confirm that you are using the same Rockstar account and the same Launcher installation through which the subscription began. A subscription purchased on a console or another PC store must be canceled in that store instead.
Steam
Steam handles subscriptions purchased through Steam. Sign in to the Steam account that was charged, open Steam’s account or subscription-management area, select GTA+, and use the cancellation control. Steam should show whether the subscription will renew and the date on which the current period ends.
Do not assume that launching GTA V through Steam identifies the billing account for you. Families may share a computer while each person uses a different Steam account, and a Rockstar account can be linked to more than one platform account over time.
Epic Games
For an Epic purchase, sign in to the Epic account that started GTA+, open the account subscriptions page, select GTA+, and turn off renewal. Check the resulting status and end date before closing the page.

If Epic shows no GTA+ subscription, look for a different Epic account or confirm that the original charge was not made through Rockstar Games Launcher, Steam, Microsoft or PlayStation.

Xbox app on PC
Rockstar’s Microsoft route uses the Microsoft Store subscription page, even when you play through the Xbox app on Windows.
- Open Microsoft Store and sign in with the Microsoft account that purchased GTA+.
- Open My Microsoft account.
- Select Subscriptions.
- Find GTA+ and choose Manage.
- Select Cancel subscription and complete the confirmation screens.
- Reopen the subscription details and verify that the membership remains active only until the next billing date and that you will not be charged for another period.
Use the Microsoft account shown on the purchase receipt or bank statement, not necessarily the Windows account currently signed in. If several Microsoft accounts are used on the PC, check each one before concluding that GTA+ is absent.
PlayStation 5
On PlayStation 5, use PlayStation Store subscription management for the PlayStation Network account that purchased GTA+. Open the account’s subscriptions, select GTA+, choose the option to cancel or disable automatic renewal, and confirm the displayed expiration date.
Signing into a different PSN profile on the same console will not expose the purchaser’s subscription. If the subscription does not appear, switch to the account named on the original purchase confirmation.
Xbox Series X|S
For GTA+ purchased on Xbox Series X|S, use Microsoft/Xbox subscription management for the purchasing Microsoft account. Select GTA+, choose the cancellation option, and confirm that the page shows an expiration date rather than a future renewal.
The console profile used to play GTA Online may differ from the Microsoft account that pays for the subscription. Verify the billing account first, especially if the console has multiple profiles.
How to know cancellation worked
Cancellation is complete only when the billing store records the change. Closing the game, deleting a payment method or uninstalling a launcher does not reliably stop recurring billing.
- Look for a status change: wording may include canceled, auto-renew off, does not renew, or expires on a specific date.
- Record the date: note the renewal or expiration date displayed after cancellation. That is the practical deadline for the current membership.
- Check the correct account: the subscription must appear under the account that was charged.
- Keep confirmation: save the confirmation email or a screenshot showing the canceled-renewal state.
- Recheck after signing out: if the store offers a subscription overview, sign back in and confirm the same status rather than relying on a transient pop-up.
Store labels and menus can change. The important evidence is not a particular button name; it is that the original billing account shows no future renewal and supplies an end date.

Do not confuse canceling with removing a card or changing a payment method. A store can continue trying to bill an active subscription using another saved method. Only the subscription setting that disables renewal prevents the next recurring charge.
When should you cancel a free month?
Cancel as soon as you decide you do not want a paid renewal. Rockstar describes GTA+ as optional, cancellable at any time and billed through monthly renewals. There is no official universal cancel-X-days-before-the-end rule in Rockstar’s general cancellation instructions.
Your store’s displayed renewal date is the date that matters. A free or promotional period can have its own terms, time zone and eligibility conditions. If the page shows a renewal on a particular calendar date, complete cancellation before that renewal is processed and verify the resulting status. Do not rely on the date you remember accepting the offer, because the store may calculate the period from redemption or purchase timing.

Allow enough time to sign in, locate the correct account and complete any confirmation screens. If a store page is unavailable, keep trying before the displayed renewal date and retain screenshots of the account status. The decisive record is the store’s subscription entry, not an in-game message.
The one-month preorder example is not a universal trial
Rockstar’s June 24, 2026 guidance describes one specific promotion: a month of GTA+ included with a qualifying digital Grand Theft Auto VI preorder. Under that offer, membership auto-renews monthly at the regular price after the included month unless it is canceled. Eligibility and redemption rules vary by platform.
That promotion should not be treated as proof that every GTA+ account has the same one-month trial, price or renewal date. Other promotional offers can have different conditions. Open the original store account and use its renewal date and offer terms for your subscription.
What happens after you cancel
Turning off auto-renewal normally stops the next charge; it does not immediately remove the current membership. Rockstar says GTA+ access and related benefits remain available until the subscription terminates under the applicable store’s rules.

Claim event-limited rewards before the end
Some property, vehicle or other GTA+ benefits are tied to a member-only event. If the event ends before you claim the benefit, the opportunity is lost. Cancellation does not preserve an unclaimed reward. Before the end date, open the current GTA+ benefit or event pages in-game, claim anything you want, and confirm that the item or bonus has actually been delivered.

What you do not lose
Rockstar says properties, vehicles, cosmetics and bonuses or deals you claimed while GTA+ was active remain yours after the membership ends. Canceling therefore stops recurring and future privileges; it does not reverse every item you already claimed.

GTA+ is not listed
- Check the store account named on your purchase receipt or payment record.
- Try the other platform accounts used on the device.
- Check Rockstar Games Launcher, Steam, Epic, Microsoft and PlayStation separately if you have used more than one route.
- Make sure you are viewing subscriptions rather than purchase history; the two pages may be separate.
Do not start a second subscription while searching. A new purchase can create another billing relationship and make the account history harder to interpret.
There is no cancel button
A missing button can mean renewal is already disabled, the store is displaying an expired subscription, or you are signed into an account without management rights. Read the status text and end date. If it says the membership will not renew, save that confirmation even if the control is labeled differently.

You canceled but still see GTA+ benefits
That is normally expected while the current period remains active. The cancellation stops the next renewal; it does not necessarily terminate access immediately. Use the displayed end date to determine when ongoing benefits should stop.
You were charged after trying to cancel
First confirm which account and store processed the charge, then inspect that store’s cancellation timestamp and subscription status. If the store still shows an active renewal or the wrong account was canceled, correct the setting in the billing store. For a charge you cannot reconcile with the store record, contact the store’s support channel and provide the transaction details; Rockstar’s general rule still requires cancellation through the original purchase store.
You cannot remember which offer provided the free month
Search the purchase or promotion email, inspect subscription details in each likely store, and use the account page that displays the next billing date. The offer name alone is not enough to establish a universal deadline because promotional terms differ.
A practical checklist before the membership ends
- Write down the purchasing platform and account.
- Open that account’s subscription-management page.
- Cancel auto-renewal and complete every confirmation step.
- Verify the no-renewal status and record the end date.
- Claim GTA+ event rewards, vehicles, properties, cosmetics, bonuses or deals you still want.
- Keep the confirmation email or screenshot.
- After the end date, review the account once to ensure no new renewal was created.
The safest approach is to treat the store’s subscription page as the authority: it identifies the billed account, shows the actual renewal date and records whether auto-renewal is off. Canceling in the correct place preserves the current membership period while preventing the next monthly charge.

No. Rockstar does not set one universal trial deadline in its general instructions. Use the renewal date displayed by the original store and the terms of your specific promotion.
Does deleting my payment method cancel GTA+?
