Start by checking who bills your Disney+ subscription. If Disney+ bills you directly, sign in at DisneyPlus.com in a computer or mobile browser, open Profile → Account → Your Plans & Billing, and either change the plan or select Cancel Subscription. If a company such as Apple, Google, Amazon, a mobile carrier, or another partner bills you, Disney+ will direct you to that provider instead.
A same-plan change from annual to monthly billing normally begins on your next billing date. Cancellation normally stops the next renewal while leaving access through the paid period, but a minimum term or promotion can alter the end date. Check the final confirmation screen before submitting either request.

Check who bills your Disney+ account first
The billing provider controls the cancellation and plan-change process. You can identify it without guessing:
- Sign in to DisneyPlus.com using a computer or mobile browser.
- Select your profile icon, then choose Account.
- Open Your Plans & Billing (the label may appear as Subscription on some accounts).
- Read the provider shown beside the Disney+ subscription.
If the page shows Disney+ as the provider, use the direct-billing instructions below. If it names a third party, follow that company’s cancellation or subscription-management instructions. Disney+ says partner options differ by provider and region, so a generic Disney+ cancellation button may not stop a partner-billed subscription.

Why the provider matters
- Direct Disney+ billing is managed in the DisneyPlus.com account page.
- Apple, Google, and Amazon subscriptions use those companies’ subscription settings or support channels.
- Carrier, broadband, app-store, and bundle subscriptions can have their own minimum terms, renewal dates, credits, or eligibility rules.
- The plan list shown to you is the authoritative list for your country and account; another region may offer different monthly, annual, or bundle choices.
Decide whether you need a billing change or a cancellation
These are different requests. Switching an annual subscription to the monthly version keeps the subscription active and changes the recurring cycle at the next billing date. Canceling tells the provider not to renew the subscription; it normally leaves viewing access available until the current paid period or minimum term ends.
If your goal is simply to avoid another annual charge, a same-plan switch may be enough. If you want to stop paying altogether, cancel instead. If you want a different renewal day, Disney+ describes canceling and signing up again on the date you prefer; that is not the normal monthly-to-annual or annual-to-monthly switch.
Switch a directly billed annual plan to monthly
These steps apply when Disney+ itself appears as the billing provider.

- Select your profile, then select Account.
- Under Your Plans & Billing, select the Disney+ subscription you want to change.
- Select Change.
- Choose the available monthly version of your current plan.
- Continue through the Subscriber Agreement and billing review screens.
- Check the displayed price, taxes where shown, renewal date, and any credit or loss of a promotion.
- Confirm the change. Disney+ says it will send a confirmation email and display the new subscription on the Account page.
When the monthly plan starts
For a change between monthly and annual billing of the same plan, Disney+ says the new cycle takes effect on the next billing date, not immediately. Your account page and confirmation email should show that date. Until then, the existing annual subscription remains the active plan.
This timing means you should not expect an immediate second monthly charge or an instant replacement of the annual term. Keep the confirmation until the new cycle appears on the account. If the date shown in the email differs from the date shown in Account, ask Disney+ support to clarify before making another change.
Check for promotion and price-hold consequences
Disney+ warns that changing plans can remove an existing promotion or price hold. A lower recurring price shown after the change is not proof that a grandfathered rate will survive. Compare the current and proposed billing details on the confirmation screen before accepting.
Take note of the recurring amount, the next billing date, and the plan name rather than comparing only the headline monthly price. A promotion attached to an annual plan may not follow you to the monthly version, and a price hold may end when the plan is modified.

Annual plan to a bundle is a different change
An annual subscriber billed directly by Disney+ may be offered an eligible bundle. Disney+ says that option can include a prorated credit for the monthly plan, effective on the next billing date. This is separate from moving the same Disney+ plan from annual to monthly, and bundle availability depends on region and account eligibility.
Read the bundle review carefully: confirm which services are included, the recurring charge after any credit, and the date the bundle takes over. If no eligible bundle appears, do not assume that a bundle offered in another country or through a partner is available on your account.
Cancel a directly billed Disney+ subscription
- Sign in to DisneyPlus.com in a computer or mobile browser.
- Select your profile, then choose Account.
- Select the Disney+ subscription under Your Plans & Billing.
- Select Cancel Subscription.
- Complete the on-screen cancellation flow. A request for a reason is optional, according to Disney+.
- Save the confirmation email or take a screenshot of the cancellation status and end date.
Cancellation does not delete your Disney+ or MyDisney account. It changes the subscription’s renewal status; account credentials and profile data remain unless you separately request account deletion through Disney’s account tools.
What cancellation timing means
The UK cancellation guidance says cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period or, where applicable, at the end of a minimum term. Access generally continues until that effective end date. After cancellation takes effect, the subscription should not renew, but a cancellation request submitted after a renewal deadline can leave another paid period active.

If Apple, Google, Amazon, or another partner bills you
When a third party appears under Your Plans & Billing or Subscription, Disney+ says the partner controls both cancellation and available plan changes. Use the provider’s own help center or subscription settings rather than assuming the DisneyPlus.com flow will end billing.
Partner-billed plan changes
Disney+ may provide a link that sends you to the partner. The partner might offer a monthly switch, require cancellation followed by a new subscription, or offer no equivalent plan at all. The choices can vary by country, device, bundle, and promotional agreement. Read the partner’s final confirmation for the effective date and next charge.

Some partner accounts show only the partner’s plan name, so compare that description with the Disney+ plan shown in Account. If you are unsure whether a displayed option changes the cycle or changes the tier, stop and ask the provider before confirming.

Partner-billed cancellations
Disney+ specifically directs subscribers billed through Apple, Google, Amazon, or another provider to that provider’s instructions or support team. Do not rely on deleting the Disney+ app, signing out, or removing a payment card; none of those actions is a confirmed cancellation. Obtain a cancellation receipt or status page from the billing provider.
Moving from a partner to direct Disney+ billing
Disney+ says subscribers paying through Apple, Google, or Amazon may cancel the existing partner subscription and then sign up directly at DisneyPlus.com. Avoid starting the direct subscription before the partner cancellation is confirmed, or you could temporarily have two active subscriptions. Compare the direct plan’s price, billing cycle, bundle eligibility, and promotional terms before re-subscribing.
Billing dates, access, and charges

Automatic renewal
Disney+ subscriptions can renew monthly or annually. Disney+ states in its automatic-payments guidance, dated September 3, 2025: “Please note that your Disney+ subscription will automatically renew, unless you choose to cancel before your renewal date.” Treat the renewal date shown in your account or partner receipt as the deadline; do not wait for a bank decline to stop the subscription.
Minimum terms and promotional periods
A minimum term or promotional period can change when cancellation actually takes effect. A cancellation request may be accepted now while access and billing continue until the contractual term ends. The account page, confirmation email, or partner receipt should identify the applicable end date.
How upgrades and downgrades differ
Changing the billing cycle is not the same as changing tiers. Disney+ says an upgrade to a higher tier takes effect immediately and the first charge may include a prorated amount. A downgrade takes effect on the next billing date, so the higher tier remains active until then. If you only want monthly billing, choose the monthly version of the same plan and verify that the plan name has not changed.
What to do when the monthly option or cancel button is missing
The account is billed by a partner
Return to Account → Your Plans & Billing and verify the provider. If it is not Disney+, use that provider’s subscription controls. Disney+ cannot guarantee that its own account page can cancel a partner charge.

You are using the mobile app
Open DisneyPlus.com in a browser instead of relying on the streaming app. Disney+’s direct-billing instructions use the web account flow, and app interfaces may omit account-management controls.
The monthly version is not listed
Disney+ only displays plans available to that account in its region. Check whether you are viewing a bundle, a legacy promotion, or a partner-managed subscription. If the same-plan monthly choice is unavailable, do not select a different tier merely to force a monthly cycle; contact Disney+ support or the billing partner and ask which eligible route preserves your intended plan.

Stop before confirmation and compare the displayed recurring price with your current receipt. A plan change can remove a promotion or price hold. If the amount is unclear, capture the screen and ask Disney+ or the partner to explain the charge before submitting.
You were charged after attempting to cancel
Check whether the charge came from Disney+ or a partner, then compare the charge date with the cancellation effective date. A request made after the renewal deadline can leave one more paid period active. If the provider’s confirmation shows cancellation before the charge but billing continued, contact that provider with the confirmation number and transaction details.
You cannot access the account email
Use the provider’s account-recovery process first. If a partner bills you, support may be able to locate the subscription using the partner account or transaction information. Avoid creating a second Disney+ account while trying to recover the first one.

Canceling is not the same as deleting your account
Stopping the subscription prevents the next renewal according to the provider’s terms. It does not erase the Disney+ or MyDisney login. If you want your personal information removed as well, treat account deletion as a separate privacy request and follow Disney’s account-deletion process; deleting the app or canceling billing alone does not do that.
