Best Base Locations in Palworld for Multiplayer Servers (Updated for Version 1.0)

A practical Palworld 1.0 guide to multiplayer base locations, with starter sites, resource outposts, raid-aware layouts, endgame options and conflicting coordinates to verify in-game.

There is no single best Palworld base location for every multiplayer server. Your best choice depends on whether you need an easy first home, concentrated ore and coal, crude oil, raid protection, or an endgame industrial site. In practice, many servers work best with separate bases: a flat production base, a mining base, and a specialist resource outpost.

For the multiplayer world itself, Godlike.Host offers Palworld game-server hosting with a Pterodactyl-based game panel, free DDoS protection, up to three free backups a day and 24/7/365 support by live chat or ticket.

This guide uses locations reported for Palworld 1.0, which launched on July 10, 2026. Treat every coordinate as an in-game starting point rather than a guarantee: published guides disagree, especially around the mountain ore base and Dusk Dunes. Travel to the area, inspect the terrain and nodes, and place your Palbox only after confirming the position on your server.

How to choose a multiplayer base location

Before selecting a landmark, decide what the base must accomplish. A safe starter home has different requirements from a late-game oil operation, and a server with raids enabled rewards a different layout from a relaxed cooperative world.

Bushiroad Palworld Trading Card Game Dawn of Palpagos Red & Blue Trial Deck POCGe-TD01 [50 Cards]
  • Official Palworld Trading Card Game: Strategic gameplay designed for two players featuring mysterious creatures known as Pals
  • Complete Trial Deck Set: Includes 50 cards in the Dawn of Palpagos Red & Blue Trial Deck, designed for immediate play right out of the box
  • Flexible Deck Construction: Build decks using up to 2 colors from Red, Blue, Green, and Purple, plus versatile Colorless cards that work with any deck combination
  • Customizable Strategy Options: Cards are customizable with a maximum of four copies per card, encouraging personalized strategies and unique gameplay experiences
  • Comprehensive Game Components: Includes 60-card set with 50 main deck pieces and 10 soul cards, plus play guide, paper playmat, life counter, and bonus booster pack
  • Progression: Early characters need nearby wood, stone, food and a little ore. Later characters value coal, sulfur, quartz, oil and space for automated production.
  • Terrain: Flat ground makes housing, farms and production easier to arrange. Cliffs, walls and narrow approaches can reduce the number of directions a raid can use.
  • Resource density: A node base is worthwhile when several deposits fit inside one Palbox radius. Count the actual nodes after arriving; guide-reported counts can change with patches or map interpretation.
  • Travel time: A specialist base saves repeated journeys only if your guild can move materials and Pals efficiently between bases.
  • Server rules: Building limits, raid settings, guild size and player activity affect whether one large compound or several focused bases performs better.

For most cooperative servers, establish a practical starter base first, then add a dedicated ore-and-coal base. Add oil, sulfur or quartz outposts only when your crafting progression needs them. This avoids forcing one location to do every job.

Best locations at a glance

Use case Recommended area Reported coordinates What the guides report Main caution
First general base Windswept Plateau or Windswept Hills basin (100, -150) or (230, -486) Flat, near the starting area, with wood, stone, berries and a small ore cluster Two commonly published positions differ; verify the exact basin
Starter home with clustered ore Golden Hills (0, -524) Home, food, wood, stone and first ore; dense forest and tightly grouped ore are reported Less universally cited than Windswept locations
Dual ore-and-coal base Mountain peak (192, 38), also (188, -37) or (180, -39) About five to six ore and five to six coal nodes in one base radius; described by guides as non-raidable Coordinates conflict and raid safety is less certain after the 1.0 rework
High-output mine Dedicated mine site (270, -230) Eight ore nodes and five coal nodes are claimed Confirm that all deposits fit inside your Palbox radius
Pal Oil Dusk Dunes (-94, -119) or (-96, -120) Many Dumud and Digitoise buildings, cited as a strong Pal-Oil source Coordinate discrepancy; the area may require more defensive attention
Sulfur Mount Obsidian West (-744, -442) Convenient sulfur for ammunition and explosives Volcanic terrain and hostile activity make it a specialist outpost
Quartz Unthawable Lake, Astral Mountains (-211, 252) Recommended quartz location Cold mountain travel and a less suitable main-base landscape
Raid-resistant layout Walled Beach near Mount Obsidian (-479, -80) Rock wall reportedly blocks raid-party pathing Low-to-medium confidence; 1.0 countermeasures made un-raidable spots less dependable
Endgame showcase Sunreach Crystal Pool (-540, -1361) Large scenic endgame site with a distinctive pool Build toward the far side so work Pals do not start fights they cannot win
Late-game oil production Sakurajima Oil Fields (-646, 270) Crude-oil rigs and broad flat ground Level 50-plus enemies; unsuitable as an early base

Early-game bases

Windswept Plateau and the Windswept Hills basin

Windswept terrain is the safest default for a first multiplayer Palbox. One set of guides places the choice around (100, -150), describing it as close to the starting area, relatively flat, naturally defensible and balanced across basic resources. Another places the community-default basin at (230, -486), where wood, stone, berries and a small ore cluster are reported inside the base radius.

Because those coordinates do not match, do not paste either number into a map and build blindly. Explore both candidate areas, look for a broad buildable floor, and check that your Palbox circle includes the resource nodes you intend to automate. A good first layout leaves a clear route between the Palbox, storage and workstations rather than filling every flat tile with buildings.

Golden Hills

Golden Hills, around (0, -524), is another practical starter option. A player account cited a dense forest, tightly clustered ore nodes and enough food, wood and stone for a home and early production. It is attractive when your group wants to mine immediately without abandoning a comfortable starting area.

Use Golden Hills when the terrain you find is flatter or closer to your friends than the Windswept candidates. Prioritize a small number of beds, storage containers, food production and repair access first. Leave a perimeter gap for later defensive structures and for Pals to navigate; an overbuilt starter compound is difficult to rebuild once production expands.

The Sunlit Isle

The Sunlit Isle, around (405, -483), is recommended for early crude-oil farming. It is not the most balanced first home, so treat it as an oil outpost unless your group has already checked that the local terrain and enemy levels are manageable. Keep its storage and production role narrow, and maintain a safer mainland base for beds, breeding and general crafting.

Best bases for ore, coal, oil, sulfur and quartz

Mountain peak: the balanced ore-and-coal base

The mountain peak is the most frequently repeated dual-resource recommendation. Guides report roughly five to six ore nodes and five to six coal nodes inside one base radius near (192, 38). Other guides place the same-looking site at (188, -37) or (180, -39). The location is often described as non-raidable because of its elevation and approach, but that description predates or does not fully account for the 1.0 raid rework.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Scout the peak with the Palbox preview before committing. Rotate the preview until the circle catches every practical ore and coal node, then test whether worker Pals can reach the deposits without getting trapped on ledges. Place storage near the center and keep smelting and power-related structures on the flatter side of the site. If even one or two nodes fall outside the circle, a dedicated mine at (270, -230) may produce more total output despite requiring a separate base.

Rank #2

Dedicated mine at (270, -230)

A separate guide identifies (270, -230) as a dense mining base with eight ore nodes and five coal nodes. These are guide-reported counts, not a published statistical measurement, so verify them on your current world. This site is best for a guild that can tolerate a specialized, industrial layout and wants to keep its main settlement free of mining clutter.

Build only what the mining crew needs: Palbox, beds or assigned resting facilities, food, storage, transport capacity and the processing stations that consume ore and coal. Moving decorative housing and every crafting bench to this location defeats the purpose of separating resource roles.

Dusk Dunes for Pal Oil

Dusk Dunes, reported near (-94, -119) and elsewhere as (-96, -120), is described as full of Dumud and Digitoise buildings and as one of the strongest Pal-Oil locations. The two coordinate sets are close but not identical, so walk the dunes and confirm the actual spawn and building area rather than treating either number as exact.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Use Dusk Dunes as a production outpost once your group has a reliable combat team. Keep oil storage protected and avoid placing the Palbox where workers must cross a steep dune face repeatedly. If enemy pressure interrupts work, move beds and food closer to the working area and reduce unnecessary pathing between the Palbox and storage.

Mount Obsidian West for sulfur

Mount Obsidian West, around (-744, -442), is cited for sulfur used in ammunition and explosives. It is a specialist location rather than a comfortable guild capital. Establish it when your group has the heat protection, combat strength and transport plan to operate in volcanic terrain.

Place sulfur extraction and storage inside the safest reachable shelf, then use a compact defensive footprint. Do not assume that a dramatic cliff makes the outpost immune to raids; location-based raider types include the Eternal Pyre Faction in Mount Obsidian, according to secondary summaries of the 1.0 changes.

Unthawable Lake for quartz

The Unthawable Lake in the Astral Mountains, near (-211, 252), is the recommended quartz area. Quartz is valuable enough later in progression to justify an outpost, but the frozen mountain environment is a poor fit for a first base. Plan for cold-weather equipment, safe routes and a workforce that can reach deposits without falling or becoming stuck on uneven ice.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Raid-safe and defensible multiplayer locations

Walled Beach near Mount Obsidian

Walled Beach, around (-479, -80), is described in one guide as being enclosed by a rock wall that raid parties cannot path through. Confidence in this claim is low to medium because it comes from a single guide-level report, and 1.0 introduced raid countermeasures that made previously un-raidable spots less reliable. Treat the wall as a terrain advantage, not a guarantee.

If you choose Walled Beach, leave a deliberate opening for your own Pals and place defensive structures where they cover that approach. Test the route during normal travel: a wall that blocks enemies may also trap workers, guildmates or transport Pals.

Cliff-backed bases with one entrance

For a server with raids enabled, a more transferable strategy is to build against a cliff or on high ground with one ramped entrance. The goal is to funnel raid waves into a lane your guild can watch, repair and defend. This is practice advice rather than a measured guarantee, so inspect every alternate path that a hostile Pal or player could use.

Keep beds, food and critical storage behind the defensive line. Put expendable or replaceable structures closer to the entrance, and leave enough turning space for combat Pals. A narrow lane that is too tight can cause your own workers to body-block one another.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

How the 1.0 raid changes affect placement

Secondary summaries of the 1.0 patch notes describe raids as successive waves, with rewards granted after all waves are defeated. They also report that defence structures no longer consume ammunition and that raid strength scales with the level of the Work Pals assigned to the base. In other words, a high-level industrial base may attract stronger pressure than a low-level outpost, so assigning powerful workers is not only a production decision.

  • The raider type depends on location: the Free Pal Alliance is reported to attack in Crescent Moon Shore, while the Eternal Pyre Faction raids Mount Obsidian.
  • A Negotiator can reportedly cancel an upcoming raid in exchange for gold coins.
  • A guild can run at most one raid boss battle at a time, and bases under raid are marked.

These rules are based on secondary summaries rather than a directly opened Pocketpair note. Check the current in-game descriptions and Steam patch notes before designing a server-wide defence doctrine.

Endgame base locations

Sunreach Crystal Pool

Sunreach’s Crystal Pool, around (-540, -1361), is presented as an endgame showpiece. Its value is space and atmosphere as much as raw efficiency. One guide advises building toward the far side of the pool so work Pals do not wander into fights they cannot win.

Separate public-facing housing and decorative construction from the working zone. Keep production, beds and food on the side with the clearest paths, and reserve the scenic shoreline for structures that do not require constant Pal traffic. This reduces the chance that a worker abandons a task to engage a hostile creature across the water.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Sakurajima Oil Fields

Sakurajima Oil Fields, around (-646, 270), combines crude-oil rigs with broad flat ground, making it a strong late-game industrial site. The area has level 50-plus enemies, so it should be built last, after your guild can defend workers and replace lost equipment.

Use the flat ground for a modular refinery and storage plan. Keep combat Pals and defensive structures between the approach routes and the oil equipment, and avoid putting every valuable station in one raid path. The site is efficient only when the guild can keep it running; a lower-level oil outpost that survives may outperform a theoretically better field that is constantly interrupted.

Multiplayer layout: split bases by role

One guide recommends separating bases into three roles for server performance and easier management: a flat production main base, a node base for ore and coal, and a resource outpost. This arrangement also limits the damage from a raid or pathing failure at any one location.

Flat production main

  • Choose the flattest safe site available rather than chasing every resource node.
  • Group crafting, storage and food so workers spend less time crossing the compound.
  • Leave open corridors between the Palbox, beds, farms and workshops.
  • Keep guild housing and decorative structures outside the main worker routes.

Node base

  • Place the Palbox only after confirming the ore and coal circle covers the intended deposits.
  • Use dedicated storage and processing; do not duplicate every workstation.
  • Provide food and rest facilities close to the nodes to reduce failed work cycles.
  • Mark the site clearly for guildmates so visitors do not dismantle a production building needed by workers.

Resource outpost

Oil, sulfur and quartz sites should be compact. Build the minimum beds, food, storage, extraction and defence needed for the resource. A small outpost is easier to abandon or relocate when a patch changes enemy levels, node positions or raid behavior.

How to verify coordinates before building

Coordinate disagreements are the most important practical warning in this guide. The mountain recommendation appears as (192, 38), (188, -37) and (180, -39), while Dusk Dunes appears as (-94, -119) and (-96, -120). Those differences may reflect map-tool offsets, different landmark interpretations or genuinely different buildable spots.

  1. Travel to the published coordinate with a combat-capable Pal and enough materials for a temporary marker, not a finished base.
  2. Open the Palbox placement preview and rotate it across the area. Check the full circle, not only the center point.
  3. Count visible nodes and confirm that workers can reach them without climbing, swimming or passing through hostile spawns.
  4. Walk the perimeter to find raid approaches, alternate paths and places where Pals become stuck.
  5. Place a temporary Palbox or marker, leave the area and return after a work cycle. Confirm that assigned Pals actually mine, transport and eat as expected.
  6. Only then commit scarce building materials and guild permissions to the permanent layout.

Dedicated-server settings and version 1.0 considerations

Dedicated servers gained optional in-game voice chat, guild roles and permissions, shared markers, login notifications and processing optimizations aimed at higher player counts. Secondary summaries say default world settings were adjusted to be close to single-player Normal difficulty. These features make role-based bases easier to coordinate, but they do not remove the need to test a location on your own server.

Server clustering was announced in June 2026 but was not listed in the July 10 version 1.0 patch notes summarized by secondary sources. Do not choose a base assuming clustering will let players move seamlessly between worlds.

Version 1.0.4, dated September 7, added a per-player building-limit server setting and dedicated-server fixes. The available summaries do not state the limit value. Check the current Steam notes and your server configuration before planning a sprawling guild capital; if the limit is strict, prioritize storage, production and defensive routes over decorative duplicates.

A practical decision framework

Your situation Start here Next move
New guild, normal settings, basic crafting Windswept Plateau or Hills basin Add the mountain or dedicated mine after early ore demand rises
Starter base is crowded but the guild needs ore and coal Mountain peak or (270, -230) Keep the original site as housing and production
Ammunition and explosives are the bottleneck Mount Obsidian West Build a compact sulfur outpost with volcanic protection
Quartz production is delaying advanced crafting Unthawable Lake Send a prepared team and keep the outpost minimal
Raids regularly destroy open compounds Cliff-backed site or Walled Beach Use one ramped entrance, test alternate paths and monitor raid waves
Level 50-plus guild pursuing oil Sakurajima Oil Fields Build only after combat and replacement logistics are reliable
Performance or building limits are a concern Three role-based bases Check the server’s current per-player building-limit setting

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Trusting one coordinate: The published variants prove that a number alone is not a sufficient placement plan.
  • Calling a spot permanently raid-proof: The 1.0 wave system and countermeasures changed how older terrain exploits behave.
  • Putting every role in one base: Mining nodes, oil rigs and production buildings compete for space and create longer worker routes.
  • Ignoring enemy level: Sakurajima’s level 50-plus enemies make it a poor starter choice even though its terrain is attractive.
  • Blocking Pal pathing: Walls, decorative objects and narrow ramps can stop the workers the base is meant to support.
  • Building before a trial cycle: A node inside the Palbox circle is useful only if assigned Pals can reach and work it consistently.
  • Assuming server features without checking settings: Voice chat, permissions, building limits and raid behavior can differ by configuration and patch.

Bottom line for a multiplayer server

Use Windswept Plateau or the Windswept Hills basin for the first shared home, Golden Hills when its clustered ore and forest suit your group better, and a mountain or dedicated mine base when ore and coal become the limiting resources. Add Dusk Dunes, Mount Obsidian West or Unthawable Lake only for the resource each outpost supplies. For raids, favor a tested cliff-backed layout with one defendable entrance; regard Walled Beach as a terrain advantage with uncertain long-term reliability, not a guarantee. Reserve Sunreach and Sakurajima for endgame projects, and verify every coordinate in your own 1.0 server before placing the permanent Palbox.
