Amazon’s cancellation instructions explain how to end membership; its published terms cited here do not clearly guarantee continued access to every game after an individual member cancels. Before ending Prime, identify where each game was redeemed and which account holds its entitlement.
How to cancel Amazon Prime
Use the account or provider that bills you, and complete the final confirmation prompts. Amazon’s interface labels can vary by marketplace and may change; check the membership page afterward for the stated end date.

On Amazon.com in a browser
- Go to Amazon.com and open Accounts & Lists.
- Choose Prime Membership, then open Manage Membership.
- Select End Membership and follow the on-screen instructions through the final confirmation. These steps are from Amazon’s US corporate guide: How to cancel your Prime membership.
In the Amazon Shopping app
- Open Profile and choose Manage Prime Membership.
- Open the membership controls, choose End Membership, and follow the prompts to confirm. Amazon’s guide describes this route for its app; labels may differ by app version or marketplace.
In the UK or through another billing provider
Amazon UK’s help page directs members to Your Amazon Prime Membership, then Manage, then Update, Cancel and More, followed by the on-screen instructions. Amazon says customers who signed up through the Android Shopping app must manage the subscription through Google Subscription services. If another provider bills you, cancel through that provider’s subscription settings. See Amazon UK’s cancellation instructions.

Will you keep playing games claimed through Prime Gaming?
The official sources cited here do not establish a universal answer for every game after an individual cancels Prime. Don’t treat stopping Prime billing as the same as closing your Amazon account, but don’t treat a past claim as a blanket guarantee of permanent access either. Check each title’s claim confirmation and the account or platform where it was redeemed.

Amazon’s Prime Gaming Promotions Schedule says that, unless otherwise specified, ending or suspending a developer’s participation in the program does not affect end users’ further access, use, downloads, or redownloads of promotion items for which they were entitled before that termination. That clause concerns a developer’s program agreement ending—not an individual member cancelling Prime. It appears within Amazon’s Amazon Appstore for Android Terms of Use, dated 2025-09-30.
The same terms discuss acquired app rights and say Amazon will usually continue making purchased apps available for download and reinstallation, while reserving the ability to limit or disable downloads for licensing or other reasons. That language concerns purchased apps and developer-program terms; it is not a promise about Prime Gaming claims after membership ends.

Check the entitlement for each game
- Where did you claim or redeem it? Distinguish a title claimed directly through Amazon’s game service from a code or claim redeemed at another store or publisher.
- Which account shows ownership? Check the Amazon account, external store, or publisher account used for the claim. If another platform holds the entitlement, check its own account and terms.
- What kind of benefit was it? A standalone game claim is different from an in-game item or access to a subscription-dependent service. Check whether the specific benefit requires an active subscription.
- What do the applicable terms say? Look for title-specific guidance from the platform or publisher that issued the entitlement. The sources cited here do not resolve every title’s post-cancellation status.
What to know about refunds and linked subscriptions
Refund guidance is marketplace-specific
Amazon UK’s cancellation help says paid members who have not placed an order using Prime benefits are eligible for a full refund; those who used only delivery benefits may be eligible for a partial refund; and members who used Prime Video, Prime Music, or Prime Gaming benefits are not eligible for a refund. Review separately billed subscriptions
Prime Video says additional subscriptions tied to Amazon Prime or Prime Video do not renew once Amazon Prime ends, and distinguishes a Prime Video-only subscription from Amazon Prime.
