Cancel the YouTube membership through whichever service bills it—YouTube, Google Play, or Apple—then separately revoke any active UPI AutoPay mandate. A mandate cancellation stops debits under that mandate, but it does not by itself confirm that the subscription is cancelled.
Find out who manages the subscription
- Sign in to the Google Account that may own the membership. In YouTube, open Paid memberships, or go to youtube.com/paid_memberships. Check the membership and its billing information.
- If you need to identify a charge or payment method, check Google Payments. YouTube also points Android users to Profile picture > Purchases and memberships to view membership details; receipts are under Activity in Google Payments.
- Use the cancellation route shown for that membership. A YouTube membership may be managed by YouTube, Google Play, or Apple, depending on how it was started and billed.
Cancel the membership through its billing service
If YouTube manages the membership
On the web, open Manage membership > Deactivate > Continue to cancel. Select a reason, choose Next, then Yes, cancel.

If you are using the YouTube Android app
Open Profile picture > Paid memberships, select the membership, and choose Continue to cancel. Select a reason, choose Next, then Yes, cancel.

In Google Play, open Subscriptions while signed in to the Google Account that owns the subscription. Select YouTube, choose Cancel subscription, and follow the prompts. If YouTube is not listed, check your other Google Accounts. Uninstalling the app does not cancel a Google Play subscription.

If Apple bills the membership
If you started the membership through the YouTube iOS app and Apple bills it, cancel it through your Apple account.
Revoke a live UPI AutoPay mandate, if one exists
Use this as a separate payment-control step after cancelling through the membership’s billing service. Google Pay describes mandate controls, but not every YouTube UPI charge is necessarily managed by a Google Pay mandate.

- In Google Pay, open Profile picture > AutoPay > Live.
- Select the relevant mandate and choose Cancel autopay.
- Enter your UPI PIN and check that the mandate status has updated. Menu labels can vary by app version.
Google Pay says revoking a mandate stops merchant debits under that mandate. It does not establish that the YouTube membership itself has been cancelled.

Return to YouTube’s Paid memberships and verify the membership status. If you revoked a UPI mandate, check its status in the payment app too. Do not use app removal or mandate revocation alone as proof that the service subscription is cancelled.

YouTube says paid benefits continue until the end of the current billing period, and that you will not be charged again unless you resubscribe. To check the next billing date, price, and payment method on Android, open Profile picture > Purchases and memberships, then the membership details. You can find receipts under Activity at payments.google.com.
If you cannot find the subscription or cancel control
- Check the right Google Account. Google Play subscriptions only appear under the account that owns them; try other accounts you use.
- Check Google Payments. Open Subscriptions & services to look for a recurring Google charge. If there is no direct cancellation control, choose Manage subscription and continue to the relevant Google product.
- Check Apple billing. If Apple handles the payment, use your Apple account’s subscription settings rather than trying to cancel a Google Play subscription.
- Check both the membership and mandate. A cancelled mandate and an active membership are different statuses. Confirm cancellation in the service that manages the membership.
