You can stop a paid Claude or Google AI plan without deleting the underlying account. Cancel the subscription through the service or app store that billed you; do not choose an account-deletion option. Claude keeps paid access active until the current billing period ends. Google’s listed paid benefits end when its plan expires, but its help page does not guarantee access to every Gemini conversation afterward.
Before you cancel: identify who bills you
Use the billing platform where you originally subscribed. A subscription started on a website may have different controls from one billed through Apple or Google Play. If you cannot find a cancellation option in the service, check the relevant app-store subscriptions instead.

How to cancel a paid Claude subscription
Claude web or desktop purchase
- Sign in to Claude on the web or open Claude Desktop for Mac or Windows.
- Select your initials or name, then open Settings.
- Go to Billing and choose Cancel.
Anthropic says cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, so paid access continues until then. To avoid the next billing-period charge, Anthropic advises cancelling at least 24 hours before the next billing date. See Anthropic’s cancellation instructions.
Claude iOS or Android purchase
In the Claude app, open the profile menu, go to Billing, choose Manage subscription, and follow the prompts. If you removed the app, manage the subscription through the Apple App Store or Google Play, depending on where it was purchased.

How to cancel a Gemini or Google AI plan
Google’s instructions here apply to personal Google Accounts; work or school accounts use separate guidance. Cancellation is handled through Google One settings opened from Gemini:
Gemini on the web
- Open the Gemini web app and select Settings & help.
- Choose Manage subscription to open the Google One settings flow.
- Follow the prompts to cancel the membership.
Gemini mobile app
- Open the profile or initials menu.
- Choose Manage subscriptions to open Google One settings.
- Follow the Cancel plan prompts.
If the Google One subscription on iOS was purchased through another app, Google may direct you to Apple’s subscription settings. Use the platform that billed you. Google’s current steps are in its Google AI plan cancellation help.
What changes when a plan ends?
Claude
Your paid Claude plan remains usable through the end of the current billing period. Cancelling that plan is separate from deleting your Anthropic account.

Google AI plans
When an AI Pro plan ends, Google says access to Gemini Pro chats and Pro-only features ends, along with applicable Google One benefits such as expanded storage, direct support, member benefits, and Gemini in Gmail, Docs, and other listed services. Benefits depend on the plan, so check the membership details shown in your account before confirming. The cited Google guidance does not make a comprehensive promise about whether every Gemini conversation or other account data remains accessible after cancellation.

If your goal is only to stop future billing, do not delete your account. Anthropic says paid Claude users should cancel first, wait until the subscription period ends, and then delete the account only if that is what they intend. Account deletion is permanent, and saved chats will no longer be accessible. Read Anthropic’s account-deletion guidance before taking that separate step.
