How to Build a Habit-Tracking Web App with Hostinger AI Builder

Hostinger says AI Builder agentic mode can create browser-based habit trackers. Learn how to specify the app, test generated features, and understand trial, publishing, and data limits.

Hostinger’s current support documentation says its AI Builder agentic mode can create browser-based apps such as habit trackers. You can describe the app in natural language, refine the generated result, preview it, and publish it after upgrading from the trial. That establishes what the product is designed to do—not that any particular habit tracker will include reliable data storage, accounts, or the exact features you request.

Hostinger’s documentation now calls the relevant experience “AI Builder agentic mode,” rather than “Hostinger Horizons.” The workflow below uses that current name and explains what to specify and verify before treating a generated app as ready to use.

What a habit tracker needs—and what the builder can do

Hostinger describes agentic mode as a natural-language tool for making websites and browser-based apps. Its examples include habit trackers, and it supports text or voice instructions plus visual references such as screenshots or images; its setup guide also says you can attach a PDF. Hostinger says the system selects a technical stack by default, commonly using React/Vite for the frontend and Node.js for backend work. Changing the stack can introduce compatibility issues. Hostinger’s overview of AI Builder agentic mode is the product publisher’s description, not independent evidence of how well a particular generated app works.

Before prompting, decide what “habit tracker” means for your use. A simple personal tracker may need a list of habits and a way to mark each one complete for a date. A more involved version might also need streaks, a history view, accounts, or syncing across devices. These are requirements to ask for, not features to assume the builder will implement correctly.

Describe the app clearly in the first prompt

Hostinger recommends a two-to-five-sentence initial description covering the app’s purpose, desired features, and target audience. Be explicit about how a user records completion, what information appears on the main screen, and whether records should persist between sessions. If you need accounts or synchronization, request them directly rather than assuming they are included.

For example, adapt this prompt to your actual needs:

Build a responsive habit-tracking web app for one person who wants to track a small set of daily habits. Keep the interface simple on mobile and desktop, and explain how habit records are stored and whether they persist after the browser is closed.

This is a starting point, not a guaranteed recipe. Hostinger says identical prompts can produce different outputs, instructions can be interpreted in different ways, and an update may change more than requested. Its technical specifications describe those limitations and the available editing and revert tools.

Refine one change at a time, then test the preview

After the initial build, inspect the preview rather than relying on the app description or generated explanation. Hostinger recommends requesting one specific change per follow-up. For example, ask it to make the completion control easier to tap on a phone, then review the result before asking for a separate change to the history view.

  1. Check the core flow: add a habit, mark it complete, and see whether the interface reflects the change for the intended date.
  2. Check persistence: reload or reopen the app and confirm whether the record remains. If you expect records to follow a person between devices, verify the account and storage behavior rather than inferring it from the interface.
  3. Check the layout: inspect the preview at phone and desktop sizes, paying attention to controls, labels, and date navigation.
  4. Review every revision: confirm that the requested change worked and that unrelated parts of the app were not altered. Use the available revert or editing tools if an update has unwanted effects.

Hostinger says agentic mode has integrated backend capabilities and can connect to external cloud databases such as Supabase or Firebase, as well as custom APIs, through prompts. That does not establish which storage method a particular generated project uses. Ask the builder to explain the implementation, then verify persistence in the preview before entering information you care about. Do not assume that authentication or cross-device syncing exists unless you have tested it.

Know what can—and cannot—be changed or exported

AI Builder is not a conventional file-based hosting environment. Hostinger says it does not support FTP, File Manager, SFTP, or SSH, and users cannot request direct file-level operations such as renaming or deleting individual files. Direct code imports from platforms such as GitHub are also unsupported.

Hostinger says source code can be exported and hosted elsewhere, but the exported project is converted to a static website. That export cannot be brought back into AI Builder for further prompt-based editing. If you expect to maintain the app with direct code changes or a separate development workflow, account for that constraint before building around the service. Hostinger also says websites become inaccessible if hosting expires, and data is permanently deleted if hosting is not renewed and canceled.

Preview during the trial; upgrade to publish

Hostinger’s trial guidance, accessed in 2026, describes a seven-day free trial with five complimentary agentic credits. You can build and preview a project during the trial, but the project remains a draft and cannot be published until you upgrade. Treat those credits as a limited opportunity to test the build process and core interface, not as proof that the finished app is ready for public use. See Hostinger’s instructions for starting a free trial.

Connect a domain and publish

Hostinger’s documented launch flow allows you to connect a domain during onboarding or later through the dashboard or editor. Connecting a domain by itself does not make the app live; you must publish the project.

  1. Connect a domain during onboarding, or use the dashboard or editor to connect one later if you want a custom address.
  2. Review the project in the preview and make any final changes.
  3. Select Publish. Hostinger says a successfully published app receives a generated URL and becomes live.

The steps and available controls may change, so consult Hostinger’s domain-connection instructions for the current flow.

Check the actual price before committing

Publishing requires an upgrade, but the trial documentation does not establish a standalone, universal price for this app-building experience. Hostinger’s US pricing page, accessed in 2026, displayed promotional examples for 48-month terms: Premium at $2.99 per month, renewing at $10.99 per month; Unlimited at $3.99 per month, renewing at $16.99 per month; and Cloud Startup at $7.99 per month, renewing at $25.99 per month. Hostinger explains that the displayed monthly figures divide the total plan price by the plan duration. These are US promotional plan examples, not guaranteed current prices or proof that a particular plan is the right choice for your project.

Confirm the current regional checkout price, term, plan inclusion, and renewal charge before paying. Hostinger’s AI Builder page and checkout are the relevant places to verify current availability and billing.

Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
