Choose the Operation-era look you want
Start with the visual identity, not a shopping list. A feature by eXputer uses Bravo, Breakout, and Wildfire as examples of Operations with distinct looks. Treat those as aesthetic starting points rather than a definitive catalogue: the feature is a secondary editorial source, not Valve documentation.

Decide what you want the inventory to feel like—such as bold and high-contrast, subdued, or colorful—and use that direction to guide later choices. This makes it easier to judge whether a skin fits the collection, rather than buying items simply because they share an Operation label.

Choose one or two skins to serve as anchors. They establish the collection’s visual center and give you concrete colors, patterns, and overall atmosphere to match. There is no need to acquire a complete set at once; add weapons gradually when they reinforce the direction you chose.

Coordinate colors, weapons, and stickers
Pick a dominant palette based on your anchor skins. When considering another weapon, ask whether its colors and visual character support that palette. Stickers can help tie an item into the theme: a sticker in a compatible color may work when an original Operation-themed sticker is unavailable or does not suit your budget.
Keep the theme flexible. A coherent inventory can mix older items associated with an Operation and newer items that carry a similar visual language. The goal is a collection that looks intentional, not a checklist restricted to one release.

Use substitutes and check availability
Older or uncommon items may take more effort to find. If a specific piece is hard to locate or costs more than you want to spend, look for a visually similar substitute that preserves the palette or atmosphere. Choose gloves and a knife last
Once the weapon skins and palette are in place, decide whether gloves and a knife complement the collection. Their colors and materials should finish the look you have already established, rather than dictate it before the core inventory exists.

A practical build order
- Choose the Operation-era visual direction you like.
- Select one or two signature skins as anchors.
- Set a dominant palette and add compatible weapons and stickers over time.
- Consider visually similar substitutes when original items are unavailable or outside your budget, and check current offers independently.
- Add gloves and a knife after the central palette is established.
