To request a blur of your house in Apple Maps Look Around, email [email protected] and clearly identify the property and its location. Apple’s published guidance allows people to request that their own house be blurred, but does not promise a response time or outcome.

What Apple can blur

Apple describes this option as blurring a house in Look Around, its street-level imagery feature. It is not a request to remove your street address from map labels, search results, or other address records. Nor does an Apple request change imagery on Google Maps or another service; those providers have separate processes.

How to request a house blur

  1. Make sure the image is Look Around imagery. Open the relevant area in Apple Maps and check that the view you want changed is the street-level Look Around image, not a map pin or address listing.
  2. Email Apple. Send your request to [email protected]. State that you want your house blurred in Apple Maps Look Around and give enough location detail for Apple to identify the correct property and image.
  3. Review any privacy notice before submitting a report through Apple’s reporting flow. Apple says certain Look Around blur reports may be associated with your Apple Account or email, and that the account or email association is shown before a report is sent. The precise information presented can depend on the submission flow.

Apple’s Image Collection guidance names the email contact but does not set out a required template or say that proof of residence is required. It also does not specify a request-tracking method, guaranteed processing time, approval criteria, permanence, or whether a blur can be reversed.

What Apple says about report information

Apple’s Maps Report an Issue & Privacy disclosure, dated December 12, 2025, says information associated with an Apple Account or email may be retained for up to two years for some reports, and up to five years for certain copyright-related reports. These are data-retention periods, not estimates for how long a house-blur request takes to process. Apple also says it may collect the direction and angle of a Look Around view for imagery issues.

Keep the request specific

In your message, identify the request as a blur of your house in Apple Maps Look Around and include the location details needed to find the imagery. Avoid describing it as removal of your address from Apple Maps generally: the published blur option concerns the house as shown in Look Around imagery.

Apple’s Apple Maps & Privacy page, dated September 14, 2026, provides broader context on Maps privacy and refers readers to the Report an Issue process. Apple’s published pages do not provide a public success rate or typical turnaround time for house-blur requests.
