For someone currently online, open Live Console, select the player, choose Ban Player, and submit the ban form. For someone offline, use the Players page to find the account by name, notes, or player ID, then ban it there. Your account must have the players.ban permission, and txAdmin applies the ban to the identifiers it has stored for that player rather than to a display name alone.
If you need a FiveM server for this moderation workflow, Godlike.Host offers FiveM server hosting with a Pterodactyl-based game panel. It is not on Cfx.re’s list of authorized FiveM hosts (fivem.net, 10 Oct 2026).

What a txAdmin ban actually does
txAdmin is the administrative panel used with a FiveM server. Its player-ban workflow records a ban against the identifiers associated with the account. Depending on what txAdmin has collected, those identifiers can include a Steam ID, Discord ID, FiveM license, or in-game identifier. At least one identifier is required for a ban to be useful; a name by itself is not a reliable account key.
When the banned player next tries to connect, the rejection screen can show the ban reason, ban date, the administrator who issued it, and a ban ID. That information gives the player a way to understand the decision and gives your staff a reference when reviewing or revoking the ban.

Check your access before you start
- Make sure you can open the server’s txAdmin panel and see the player-management pages.
- Your txAdmin account needs the
players.banpermission, described in the permissions reference as “Ban/Unban a player.” If the ban control is missing, ask the server owner to grant that permission rather than trying a different command. - For an online ban, keep the player connected while you locate the correct entry in Live Console.
- For an offline ban, have a name, a note already associated with the account, or a player identifier to search for.
If you administer several servers, confirm that the txAdmin instance you opened belongs to the server on which the incident occurred. A correct ban in the wrong panel will not affect the intended server.
Ban a connected player in txAdmin
- Open txAdmin for the FiveM server.
- In the left sidebar, select Live Console.
- Find the connected player in the live player list and click the player’s name.
- Choose Ban Player from the player actions.
- Complete the ban form. Enter a clear reason that states the rule or incident, and select the duration or other options presented by your panel.
- Review the selected player and the reason, then submit the form.
After submission, txAdmin records the ban and removes the player according to the panel’s ban action. Save the ban ID or a staff note if your team may need to discuss the case later. The ban is tied to the identifiers txAdmin has for that account, not merely to the numeric slot shown beside the player.
Ban an offline player from the Players page
- Open txAdmin and select the Players page.
- Use the search controls to search by the player’s Name, existing Notes, or Player IDs.
- Open the result and verify that its stored identifiers and history match the account you intend to moderate.
- Choose the ban action, enter the reason and duration requested by the form, and submit it.
The Players page supports banning and warning an offline account. Kicking is different: a kick can only act on a player who is currently connected. If several records have similar names, do not select the first result without checking its identifiers or notes.
Connected and offline moderation compared
| Task | txAdmin location | Player must be online? | What identifies the account |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ban a connected player | Live Console → player name → Ban Player | Yes | Stored identifiers shown for that player |
| Ban an offline player | Players page → search → player record → ban | No | Name, notes, or player IDs used to find the stored record |
| Warn an offline player | Players page | No | The selected player record |
| Kick a connected player | Live Console/player actions or console command | Yes | Current connection and its numeric ID |
The distinction matters when an incident is reported after the offender has left. Do not wait for the player to reconnect just to issue a ban; locate the account on the Players page and verify the record first.
Why you should not ban by numeric ID alone
FiveM’s numeric in-game IDs identify a current connection slot, not a permanent account. The number can be reused after a player leaves. A command aimed at ID 12 could affect a completely different person if you run it after the original player disconnects.

Use the numeric ID to select a currently connected player, then check the associated identifier information before submitting a serious action. For an offline case, search the Players page and rely on the stored account record. If your logs contain only a numeric ID, correlate it with the time of the incident and another identifier before banning.
Write a ban reason that helps staff and the player
The reason is displayed to the banned player along with the ban date, administrator, and ban ID. Make it specific enough to be actionable without publishing private evidence. A useful format is:

- Name the rule or behavior, not an insult or speculation.
- Include a date, time, location, or case reference when it helps staff distinguish incidents.
- Do not paste passwords, private messages, or personal data into a public-facing reason.
- Keep the wording factual if the duration or appeal decision may later be changed.
A clear reason also reduces mistaken repeat bans: another administrator can identify what was decided without guessing from a short label such as “bad player.”
What the banned player sees
On the next connection attempt, txAdmin can present four key details: the ban reason, ban date, banning administrator, and ban ID. The player may still appear in your records after being rejected; that record is what lets staff distinguish an existing ban from a new connection attempt.
If the player says the ban screen does not match your decision, compare the ban ID and account identifiers in txAdmin. Do not create a second ban simply because the player tried to connect again. Review the original entry and correct its duration or status if your moderation policy allows it.

How to unban a player
The available evidence for unbanning is less definitive than the ban workflow. A third-party txAdmin guide describes revoking a ban by opening History, locating the ban entry, and clicking Unban. Menu wording can vary by txAdmin version, so confirm the control and its effect in your installed panel before promising an immediate reversal.
- Open the relevant server’s txAdmin panel.
- Go to History and search for the player or ban ID.
- Open the matching ban record and verify the administrator, reason, date, and identifiers.
- Use the panel’s Unban action if it is present and you have the required permission.
- Record why the ban was revoked, especially if another administrator made the original decision.
If your version does not show an Unban control, do not guess at a database edit or issue an unverified chat command. Check the txAdmin version’s current documentation or ask the server owner to perform the change through the supported interface.
Console-only administration: kick first, do not confuse it with a ban
FXServer does not ship with a built-in universal ban command. The console-only action documented for the rconlog resource is a kick:
status
clientkick <id> <reason>
Run status to view current connections, take the numeric ID for the intended player, and replace the placeholders in clientkick. For example:
clientkick 12 Repeated rule violations; contact staff if you believe this is an error.
This disconnects the current session; it does not create the identifier-based txAdmin ban described above. Because numeric IDs can be reassigned, execute the command promptly and verify the name and connection details before sending it.

What about an in-game /ban command?
Some hosting guides and server packages show /ban and /unban commands. Those commands come from custom administration scripts or framework resources, not from an FXServer-wide built-in command. Their syntax, permissions, storage, and identifier handling depend on the resource installed on your server.
Before using one, identify which resource registers the command and confirm:
- which staff role or permission can run it;
- whether it stores Steam, Discord, FiveM license, and other identifiers;
- whether it supports offline records;
- where it writes the ban and unban history;
- how it handles a reused numeric player ID; and
- how another administrator can reverse the action.
If those answers are unclear, use txAdmin for the ban and reserve a custom command for a documented workflow. Running an unknown command can create a kick, a local script ban, or no action at all while giving staff the false impression that the account is blocked.
Troubleshoot a missing player or missing ban button
The player is online but not listed
- Refresh Live Console and confirm you are connected to the correct server instance.
- Check the player’s current name and numeric ID; do not rely on an old ID from a screenshot.
- If the player disconnected, switch to the Players page and search the stored record instead.
The Ban Player action is unavailable
- Check that your account has
players.ban. - Ask the owner to review your txAdmin role rather than sharing an administrator login.
- Make sure you opened a player record, not only the raw console output.
The offline search returns several people
- Search with a player ID or a distinctive note instead of a common display name.
- Compare the stored identifiers and incident time with your server logs.
- Stop if the record cannot be distinguished safely; a mistaken identifier-based ban can affect the wrong account on later connections.
The player reconnects after being kicked
A kick is temporary. If the conduct warrants a continuing restriction, locate the account in txAdmin and issue a ban with a reason. Do not assume that repeating clientkick has created a persistent block.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
The ban appears not to work
- Check the ban entry’s status, duration, and ban ID in txAdmin.
- Confirm that the player is connecting to the same server instance where the ban was issued.
- Compare the connection’s identifiers with those stored in the ban record.
- If your server uses a separate custom moderation resource, verify that it is not overriding or bypassing txAdmin’s records.
Auditing and automation with the txAdmin event
The official txAdmin events documentation lists a playerBanned event, broadcast when a player is banned through txAdmin. A server resource can use that event to trigger an internal audit entry, notify a moderation channel, or synchronize a permitted staff workflow.

- Grand Theft Auto V for PC features a range of major visual and technical upgrades to make Los Santos and Blaine County more immersive than ever. In addition to vastly increased draw distances, running at 60FPS with the ability to display visuals in 4K resolution, players will experience a range of additions and improvements including:
- New weapons, vehicles and activities Additional wildlife Denser traffic New foliage system Enhanced damage and weather effects, and much more
- All these features are enhanced by stunning resolution, dramatic improvements to lighting, shadows, and textures, and a smooth frame-rate. Grand Theft Auto V is physical boxed item and hence it is not activated on steam.
Keep any listener narrowly scoped: record the ban ID, player identifiers available to the event, reason, and administrator, and protect that log as staff data. Do not treat an event listener as a replacement for txAdmin’s permission checks or ban storage. Test it on a non-production server after txAdmin updates, because custom resources can break when event payloads or resource names change.
A repeatable moderation checklist
- Confirm the report, rule, and evidence before taking action.
- Decide whether the player is connected. Use Live Console for a connected account and Players for an offline one.
- Verify the account using stored identifiers, not a name or reused numeric ID alone.
- Check that your account has
players.ban. - Enter a concise, factual reason and the intended duration.
- Submit the ban and note its ban ID in your staff record.
- If the player disputes the action, review the same ban entry rather than creating a duplicate.
- For a reversal, use the supported History/Unban control available in your txAdmin version and document the decision.
Ban versus kick: choose the action that matches the incident
| Action | Persistence | Best use | Identifier concern |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kick | Ends the current connection | Minor disruption, warning, or immediate removal while staff investigate | Uses a current numeric ID; the ID can be reused |
| Ban through txAdmin | Blocks later connection attempts for the stored account identifiers | Rule violations requiring a continuing restriction | Requires at least one stored identifier and the players.ban permission |
| Custom script command | Depends on the installed resource | Only when its storage and permissions are documented | Behavior is not guaranteed by FXServer itself |
Use the least severe action that protects the server and follows your published rules. A kick is not a substitute for a ban, and an unverified custom command is not evidence that a persistent restriction exists.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I ban someone who is offline?
Yes. Open txAdmin’s Players page, search by name, notes, or player IDs, verify the stored account, and use the ban action.
Free tools Windows power users keep installed
One-click scans. No signup required.
What permission is required to ban or unban?
Your txAdmin account needs the players.ban permission.
Does FiveM have a built-in /ban command?
No universal FXServer ban command is supplied. An in-game /ban command belongs to a custom administration resource and must be verified separately.
Why did the same numeric player ID identify someone else?
Numeric IDs represent current connection slots and can be reused after a player leaves. Match the account by stored identifiers instead.
What is the console command to remove a connected player?
With the rconlog resource, run status, then clientkick <id> <reason>. This is a kick, not a persistent ban.
