Before backing up or restoring a Radeon RX 7000 vBIOS, identify the card’s exact manufacturer, model and board revision, then get model-specific guidance from that manufacturer. AMD’s public guidance does not provide a current, model-by-model RX 7000 vBIOS restore procedure. Do not treat a ROM for another card with the same GPU chip—or an old flashing-tool download—as a safe substitute.
What AMD’s documentation does—and does not—provide
AMD’s Product Security notice, dated August 11, 2019, says AMDVBFlash was temporarily available for early adopters of older graphics products and “has since been removed.” That is a historical availability statement, not an endorsement of a current download or confirmation that a particular release supports your RX 7000 card.

For board-partner products, AMD’s direction is explicit: “For original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and add-in-board (AIB) products, AMD recommends users contact the manufacturer.” Start with the card maker’s current support materials or support channel, and ask for instructions specific to your complete model and revision.
AMD’s Radeon RX Quick Start Guide and Warranty index lists RX 7000 quick-start guides and warranty information. It is not a vBIOS backup or restoration manual, so it does not establish a universal procedure for these cards.

Identify the exact card before handling a ROM
Record the board partner, full model name and number, and hardware revision shown on the card label or in the manufacturer’s documentation. Keep that information with any backup. A GPU chip name alone is not enough to identify a compatible vBIOS: cards built around the same chip can differ by board design and revision.
A third-party AMDVBFlash guide advises backing up the existing vBIOS before attempting a change and cautions that a ROM for the same GPU chip may not suit every card using that chip. Treat those points as general precautions, not as AMD-verified RX 7000 instructions.

Back up the original vBIOS without assuming it is restorable
- Ask the manufacturer for the supported method. Confirm whether it provides a backup procedure or approved utility for your exact card revision. The available AMD documentation does not verify a universal RX 7000 backup command or compatible AMDVBFlash release.
- Save the original ROM as a separate file. Use only a manufacturer-approved method or a procedure the card maker confirms applies to your model. A backup file is a copy; creating one does not prove that it is complete, valid, or usable by a flashing utility.
- Keep a second copy and label it. Store a duplicate somewhere separate, such as a USB drive, and include the card’s exact model and revision in the filename or accompanying notes. This is a sensible storage precaution, not an AMD requirement.
- Do not alter or replace the only original copy. Before any change, verify that both copies are accessible and that you can identify which card they belong to. Do not use a ROM simply because it names the same GPU family.
Restore only with instructions verified for your card
Restoration writes firmware to the card; it is a different task from saving a backup. The sources available here do not establish verified restore commands for each RX 7000 model, which AMDVBFlash release supports a particular board revision, or what recovery method applies if the card cannot be accessed. For those reasons, there is no universal command or safe sequence to give for every RX 7000 card.
- Contact the card manufacturer with the exact model and revision, describe why restoration is needed, and ask for its approved recovery steps and firmware file.
- Confirm that the supplied or backed-up ROM is intended for that precise board variant and that the manufacturer’s instructions cover your current recovery state.
- Follow the manufacturer’s procedure exactly. If its instructions do not clearly cover the card or the available recovery state, stop rather than improvising with a ROM or utility from another model.
Do not substitute AMD’s AMD FW Flash User Guide for consumer-card instructions. It covers an Instinct MI200 accelerator IFWI update tool, not Radeon RX 7000 vBIOS restoration.

- Axial-tech fans now feature a smaller fan hub that facilitates longer blades and a barrier ring that increases downward air pressure
- Phase-change GPU thermal pad helps ensure optimal heat transfer, lowering GPU temperatures for enhanced performance and reliability
- 2.5-slot design allows for greater build compatibility while maintaining cooling performance
- Dual-ball fan bearings last up to twice as long as standard conventional sleeve bearings designs
- 0dB technology lets you enjoy light gaming in relative silence
If the card is inaccessible or the backup is missing
If the card cannot be detected, you do not have a backup, or you cannot confirm that a ROM matches the exact board, contact the card manufacturer or a qualified repair provider. The official documentation cited here does not establish a software recovery route for those situations, so do not assume a blind flash or a file for a similar card will recover it.
