His hand is faster than it looks, so use cover rather than assuming you can outrun it. These are developer tips for a work-in-progress playtest—not a guaranteed escape route.
What to do when the Giant is nearby
- Keep out of exposed light. The developers specifically advise avoiding light to hide from the Giant’s wrath. Use darker, covered routes where possible.
- Get beneath overhead cover. If the Giant reaches for you, hide under an awning or pipeline. The playtest announcement warns that his hand is faster than it looks.
- Wait for a better moment to break the rules. The developers recommend timing illegal actions. Rushing a theft or other illicit move while the town is active can leave you exposed.
Choose an escape approach that fits the situation
The official Steam page describes several ways to work toward escape: stealth, exploration, manipulating relationships, and illegal actions. Its ticket-gate example includes planning, giving the cashier a gift, breaking the gate, or sneaking into the booth at night to steal a ticket. These are options described by the developers, not a fixed sequence that guarantees success.

Use stealth and observation
Watch the Giant and the town before committing to a route or action. The store page says people, cars, trains, and Giants follow life schedules, making timing part of the challenge. Avoiding light and using cover are the clearest direct evasion tips published for the playtest.
Consider social alternatives
Not every obstacle has to be handled by sneaking or breaking the law. The developers describe gifts and relationship manipulation as possible approaches, and say characters—including the Giant—have moods and reactive dialogue. A character’s mood may affect how an interaction plays out.

Expect the town to react
The game’s store description says surveillance and local reactions can bring the police into play. An action that helps with one obstacle may create attention elsewhere, so consider the wider consequences before choosing an illicit route.
How certain are these tips?
The specific advice to avoid light, time illegal actions, and hide under awnings or pipelines comes from TALLBOYS and CRITICAL REFLEX’s “Open Playtest Starts Now!” announcement, dated August 20, 2025. The developers described that build as a work in progress and said features could change. Treat the tactics as useful guidance, not proof of an always-safe strategy.
