What the official rules treat as a scam
The AION 2 Global Operation Policy describes fraud and attempted fraud broadly. Its examples include fake trades involving virtual items or currency, account-related scams, using similar-looking item icons to manipulate a price, impersonating a friend or legion member, spreading false patch information to move prices, and pretending to be a GM or company employee to obtain items. Those examples are not a complete list of every possible scheme; they show the kinds of deceptive conduct the policy considers actionable.

Read the examples as practical warnings. A familiar character name, matching avatar or confident private message does not prove identity. A claim that an upcoming patch will make an item rare or worthless is not reliable unless it appears in an official notice. An item that looks right at a glance may still be a different grade, quantity or version. Your protection comes from checking the transaction details displayed by the game, not from trusting the other person’s story.
How to check a marketplace order before confirming it
The policy specifically identifies three fields that must be checked: the item name, the price and the quantity. A mistake in any of them can leave you with a loss that is not eligible for restoration, even if the listing was misleading or you clicked through too quickly.

- Open the complete listing. Do not rely only on the small icon, a chat message or a shortened preview. Expand the listing or confirmation panel so the transaction fields are visible.
- Read the exact item name. Compare spelling, grade, level requirement and any qualifier shown in the interface. Similar icons are specifically identified as a price-manipulation tactic.
- Inspect the icon and item details together. An icon that resembles a valuable item can represent a different item. Treat the icon as a second check, not as a substitute for the written name.
- Confirm the quantity. Check whether you are buying one unit, a bundle or a stack. A low unit price can look attractive when the total quantity is different from what you intended.
- Confirm the total price. Read the number in the final confirmation view, including any displayed marketplace fee. Do not assume that a price mentioned in chat matches the price you are about to pay.
- Pause before selecting the final confirmation control. If any field differs from the deal you intended, cancel and start again. Do not let urgency, a countdown or a claim that the listing will disappear force a mistake.
The policy’s restoration limits make this deliberate pause important. Losses caused by failing to check transaction details are excluded from restoration, and marketplace purchases, sales or fees made incorrectly are listed as non-restorable.
Scam patterns and the response that fits each one

These are examples taken from the policy, not a promise that every scam will use the same script. Treat an unusual request, unexplained urgency or demand to bypass normal confirmation screens as a reason to stop and verify.
Keep every transaction inside recognized systems
The policy prohibits exchanging game items for real money, goods or services, or items from another game. It also prohibits trading accounts or characters for real-world value. Damage caused by item or account trading conducted in a manner not recognized by the company is not eligible for restoration.

First, do not move a deal to a private arrangement simply because the other person says it is faster or cheaper. A promise to pay later, a request for a gift card, a swap for another game’s item, or an offer of paid help in return for currency all create risk outside the protected transaction flow. Second, do not share account credentials or hand over a character as “temporary collateral.” Once the exchange is outside the recognized system, you may lose both the value and the ability to seek restoration.

The official materials do not conclusively establish whether direct player-to-player trading, every marketplace feature, or all access requirements are currently available in every version of Aion 2. Features can change. Before arranging a deal, check the live game interface and the latest official notices for the transaction methods presently supported in your region and edition. Do not treat community claims about an undocumented method as official permission.
Is buying Kinah or Quna from another player allowed?
No. Buying in-game currency from an unauthorized seller is prohibited. In an official warning dated October 5, 2026, the AION 2 Team stated: “Buying Kinah or Quna from unauthorized parties is strictly against our Terms of Service and will be met with swift consequences up to and including the termination of access to the game.”
That warning concerns both the currency and the source. A seller may advertise through chat, a social platform, a marketplace outside the game or a direct message; none of those channels makes the sale authorized. Do not provide payment details, account credentials or a login code to obtain currency. A seller who disappears is one risk, but account sanctions are another: the official warning says access can be terminated.

The same principle applies to offers involving real-world goods or services, currency from another game, or an account or character. A transaction can feel informal and still violate the rules. If the deal cannot be completed through a transaction method presented by the live game, decline it.

Protect the account that holds your items
Trading safety is also account security. Keep credentials private, including passwords, one-time codes and recovery information. The Operation Policy says users may demonstrate security practices through periodic password changes and enrollment in a security authentication service. It does not require or name a particular device or authentication app, so use the security measures offered by the official account service rather than copying a third party’s instructions.
- Never send a password or authentication code to a person claiming to be a GM, moderator, buyer or seller.
- Do not reuse a game password on a trading forum, chat service or unofficial currency site.
- Change the password promptly if you entered it on a suspicious page or disclosed it to another person.
- Review the official account service’s available security and authentication settings and enable the options you can maintain reliably.
- Save transaction receipts, listing details and relevant messages while they are still available; they can help support understand what happened.
A security lock is not proof that you have been punished for a scam. An official AION 2 Team notice explains that a temporary lock can be applied when access from a device or connection raises a potential security concern. If you see such a lock, follow the notice and contact official Customer Support. Do not pay an intermediary who promises to remove it.
What to do when you suspect a scam
Act in a controlled order. Panic can cause a second mistake, such as sending more currency to “unlock” a refund or giving credentials to a fake helper.

Cancel an unconfirmed order and stop replying to pressure messages. Do not send additional items, currency or personal information to recover an earlier loss.
- Secure the account. If you suspect credential exposure, change the password through the official account service and use its available security authentication options.
- Preserve evidence. Record the item name, quantity, price, character names, times, transaction screens and relevant chat. Keep the original context rather than editing screenshots to remove inconvenient details.
- Use the website’s Report section. The Operation Policy directs users to submit reports about account theft and abusive users through the official website’s reporting area.
- Contact Customer Support through the official channel. Explain what happened in chronological order and include the transaction information requested by the support form.
- Watch the deadlines. Account-theft reports must be filed within 15 days of the incident. If a sanction is imposed, an appeal must be submitted within 15 days of that sanction.
Reporting quickly does not guarantee a reversal. It preserves the opportunity for an investigation under the published process.

Can you get items back after a trade scam?
Possibly, but only within narrow rules and never as a guaranteed outcome. The Operation Policy says fraud or account-theft recovery may be available for an abnormally moved item. It also says an item moved more than 15 days before the report cannot be recovered, and an item connected with real-money trading cannot be recovered.
The policy separately lists incorrectly made marketplace purchases, sales and fees as non-restorable. It also excludes losses caused by inaccurate checks of transaction details and user-to-user fraud without company involvement. Those exclusions mean that support cannot be expected to undo every regretted purchase or deceptive private exchange.

These rules are reasons to report immediately, not reasons to delay while trying to negotiate with the suspected scammer. A support request can be assessed only after the company receives the details, and the policy’s exclusions may still apply.
How to evaluate messages, listings and price claims
When a familiar player contacts you
A scammer can imitate a friend or legion member by using a similar name, copied avatar or a newly created character. Do not use familiarity alone as authentication. If a request involves an urgent transfer, ask the person to confirm through a channel you already know belongs to them, and refuse the transaction if you cannot verify it without relying on the suspicious message.
When someone claims to be staff
Staff impersonation is explicitly listed as a fraud example. A legitimate support process should not require you to hand over items, currency, a password or a one-time code through a private player conversation. End the exchange and use the official support or reporting path.
When a patch rumor changes the price
False patch information can be used to create fear of missing out or force a sale. Look for the claim in current official notices before buying or selling. If it is not confirmed there, treat it as a rumor and do not risk currency on it.
When the price looks unusually good
Recheck the name, icon, quantity and total price. A bargain can be a different item or a smaller stack rather than a genuine discount. The policy’s emphasis on transaction-detail checks makes this a point where your own confirmation matters most.
A practical pre-trade checklist
- Is the transaction being completed through a method currently shown by the live game?
- Have you read the exact item name rather than relying on the icon or a chat description?
- Does the icon match the written name and the details you expect?
- Is the quantity correct for the total price?
- Have you checked the final confirmation screen, including any displayed fee?
- Is anyone asking for real money, another game’s item, a service, an account or a character?
- Is the price based on an unverified patch claim or an urgent private message?
- Are you being asked for a password, code or item by someone claiming staff authority?
- Do you know how to reach the official Report section and Customer Support before you need them?
If any answer raises doubt, cancel the deal. A completed transaction can be subject to exclusions that do not apply to a transaction you never confirmed.
What the rules do not establish
The published materials establish the prohibited conduct, confirmation fields, reporting windows and recovery limits described above. They do not conclusively establish the current availability of direct player-to-player trade or every marketplace access requirement. Those mechanics may differ by region, edition or later update. Confirm the options visible in your live client and read current official notices before assuming that a community-described trading method is supported.
Likewise, an official report is an investigation request, not a promise that items, currency or account access will be restored. The outcome depends on the facts and the policy’s exclusions, including the 15-day limits and the ban on recovery for RMT-connected items.
Bottom line for safe Aion 2 trading
Verify the name, icon, quantity and price every time; use only recognized in-game systems; reject RMT, account and character deals; keep credentials private; and treat identity, staff and patch claims as unverified until confirmed through official channels. If an incident occurs, secure the account, preserve the details and report it through the official website and Customer Support within 15 days. Those steps reduce avoidable losses, but they cannot turn an unauthorized or incorrectly confirmed transaction into a guaranteed refund.
