To rotate prerecorded podcast episodes on YouTube Live, use a playout source to send the episodes as one continuous video feed, then use YouTube Studio or the Live Streaming API to manage the broadcast. YouTube does not create or play the episode playlist for you. For a 24/7 stream without a computer running at home, StreamNeo is the simplest cloud option: upload your videos, add your YouTube stream key, and go live.
Choose how the episodes should appear to viewers
First decide whether listeners should see one continuous live channel or a separate scheduled live event for each episode. This choice affects broadcast scheduling and archives; it is separate from how the playlist itself is played.
- One continuous stream: A playout source sends episodes in sequence through one ongoing feed. This suits a round-the-clock channel, but do not assume each episode will automatically become a separate YouTube archive.
- Separate scheduled events: Create a distinct YouTube broadcast for each episode. Google’s API model lets broadcasts for the same show reuse a
liveStream—the reusable encoder settings—while each episode has its ownliveBroadcast. Only one event is live at a time. See Google’s broadcast lifecycle documentation.
In either setup, think of the system as two jobs: the encoder or playout service produces and sends the episode feed; YouTube Studio or the API manages the viewer-facing broadcast and its lifecycle.
Pick a playout method
| Approach | Best fit | What to plan for |
|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo cloud playout | Unattended prerecorded rotation without a computer left running at home | It plays uploaded videos to YouTube, with 24/7 looping and automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. Review storage and billing needs before starting. |
| Local software encoder | You already have a computer and want direct control of the setup | The computer, power, encoder process, and upload connection must remain available. You are responsible for recovery if the encoder or connection stops. |
| Standalone hardware encoder | You already own compatible equipment or prefer dedicated broadcast hardware | It adds equipment and does not necessarily schedule or rotate episodes; confirm the chosen system supports playlist playout. |
| YouTube Live Streaming API | You have a technical workflow for programmatic event scheduling | The API manages broadcast objects and state, not the media playlist. An encoder or playout service still has to send the content. |
YouTube supports encoder-based streaming and lists both software and hardware options in its encoder setup guidance. The reviewed LiveGoLive product page describes continuous looping, scheduling, reconnection, and broadcast rotation in connected mode, but also labels its YouTube connection beta and points to a waitlist. Treat that as the vendor’s stated feature and availability, not an independently verified service recommendation; check its current status before relying on it: LiveGoLive.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Set up a scheduled episode stream
- Enable live streaming on your channel. Follow YouTube’s encoder setup instructions. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours, so do this before the planned launch.
- Choose your event format. Decide whether each episode gets its own scheduled broadcast or whether all episodes play through one ongoing stream.
- Prepare the episode playlist. Add the recordings, in the desired order, to a local encoder or cloud playout service that supports prerecorded playback. The playout system—not the YouTube API—selects and sends the next episode.
- Create or schedule the YouTube event. In YouTube Studio, create a live stream and schedule it if needed. For the ordinary encoder workflow, YouTube’s instructions include starting the encoder and clicking “Go live” after the preview appears.
- Connect the encoder. Copy the YouTube Live server URL and stream key into the encoder or service. Keep the key private: anyone with access to it may be able to send a feed to your channel.
- Check the incoming feed before going public. Confirm the preview shows the correct episode and that YouTube reports the stream as active. For API-managed broadcasts, verify the associated stream is active before transitioning the broadcast to public live.
- Plan how the broadcast ends and restarts. API auto-start and auto-stop are optional lifecycle settings: when enabled, YouTube can start a broadcast when the encoder begins sending and end it about a minute after sending stops. They do not build, advance, or restart your playlist. See Google’s broadcast lifecycle documentation.
Automate recurring episodes with the Live Streaming API
For a technical operator scheduling individual episodes, the API separates reusable encoder configuration from viewer-facing events: create or reuse a liveStream, then create a liveBroadcast for each episode. Broadcasts for the same show can share the stream at different times, but only one event is live at once. The API’s optional auto-start and auto-stop settings can reduce manual lifecycle actions; the playout source still has to send each episode, and your system must decide when to advance the playlist and which event is next.
That separation matters when troubleshooting: a scheduled broadcast can exist without any episode being sent, and an active feed does not by itself determine the event schedule. Follow Google’s broadcast lifecycle guide for API states and transitions.

Handle archives separately from rotation
YouTube says, “All streams under 12 hours will be automatically archived.” See YouTube Help: Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder. That rule does not establish that an endless stream will produce a separate archive for every podcast episode.
If individual episode replays matter, use separate scheduled broadcasts or verify the exact archive and broadcast-rotation behavior of your chosen setup before launch. YouTube’s API documentation describes long-running broadcasts and separate broadcasts, while the reviewed vendor page claims connected-mode broadcast rotation; neither is a reason to assume your particular playlist will create one archive per episode without testing the workflow.

India-specific checks before you go live
The official YouTube setup and API guidance cited here does not specify a separate India-only encoder workflow. The same basic steps apply: YouTube needs an encoder feed, and that feed needs a stable connection to the service. Before choosing a cloud provider, check that it currently supports your location, payment method, and intended archive workflow. For local playout, make sure your internet connection and power can support the stream continuously. These are practical checks, not claims about India-specific provider availability or network quality.
Also confirm you have the rights to stream every podcast’s audio and video. A public live stream does not grant permission to rebroadcast recordings, music, clips, or other material included in an episode.

Common problems and fixes
- YouTube shows no incoming stream: Confirm the encoder is running and sending to the correct server URL with the current stream key. Check that the key was copied correctly and has not been changed in YouTube Studio.
- The preview shows the wrong episode or a gap: Check playlist order and the playout system’s transition behavior. YouTube receives the feed; it does not choose the next file.
- The broadcast is scheduled but not live: A scheduled event does not produce content by itself. Start the encoder or cloud playout and confirm YouTube reports an active stream; then complete the Studio go-live step unless your API workflow is configured to auto-start.
- The stream stops when you leave: With local playout, the encoder computer and internet connection need to remain available. A cloud playout service moves that work off your home setup.
- The stream returns but the event state is wrong: Check both the encoder’s connection and the YouTube broadcast state. Automatic reconnection or auto-stop behavior depends on the service and settings; test the full stop-and-restart flow before relying on it.
- Episodes are missing as separate replays: Continuous playlist rotation and YouTube archive creation are different things. Review whether your workflow uses separate broadcasts and test archive results; do not assume one endless event creates one archive per episode.
