Use one Playwright page to visit each URL in turn, wait for a page-specific readiness signal, then call page.screenshot({ path, fullPage: true }). That captures the full scrollable page available at capture time. If a site reveals content only as you scroll, scroll and wait for it explicitly before capturing; full-page mode alone does not guarantee lazy-loaded content or an infinite feed is complete.
Set up a repeatable batch capture
This Node.js example uses the Playwright library, visits URLs sequentially, writes a numbered PNG for each successful capture, and continues to later URLs if one page fails. Create the output directory first, for example with mkdir -p screenshots.

Choose a navigation wait that matches the page
page.goto() supports load, domcontentloaded, networkidle, and commit navigation states. A navigation state tells you something about the document lifecycle, not whether the particular content you want is ready.
domcontentloadedis a useful starting point when you follow it with a locator-based check for meaningful page content.networkidlemeans no network connections for at least 500 ms, but Playwright discourages using it as a testing readiness strategy. Pages that poll, stream, or make background requests may not reach it reliably; prefer a web assertion or locator wait tied to the needed content.loadwaits for the load event, which still may not mean a single-page application has finished rendering its data.commitwaits for the response to start loading and is not, by itself, a signal that the page is ready to capture.

Handle long pages and content loaded by scrolling
Ordinary long documents
For content already present in the document, fullPage: true is the direct option. Playwright describes it as taking a screenshot of the full scrollable page rather than only the visible viewport. It captures what is available when the screenshot is taken; it does not promise to trigger every site’s lazy-loading behavior. Lazy-loaded sections or infinite feeds
If scrolling causes more content to load, explicitly scroll in steps and wait for the expected content or a change in page height or item count before taking the full-page capture. Stop when you reach a known terminal element, the content is stable, or a maximum scroll distance or iteration count you define. A bounded loop protects the job from an endless feed.

There is no universal completion detector: nested scroll containers, virtualized lists, sticky headers, overlays, and site-specific loading behavior can all change what scrolling does. Use the page’s actual scroll container and a site-specific stop condition. Playwright’s input guide covers scroll control with mouse.wheel() and locator evaluation, and locator.scrollIntoViewIfNeeded() can bring a target into view: Actions | Playwright.
For example, when a page has a known final item, wait for that item to appear after scrolling before capturing. Do not assume a fixed number of wheel events means the entire page has loaded.
Reuse one page or capture in parallel?

A BrowserContext can contain multiple pages, and context settings such as viewport and locale apply to its pages. Reusing a single page is often the simplest way to process a URL list; concurrency is an option, not a requirement. See Pages | Playwright.

Control image dimensions and repeatability
Playwright screenshot options let you tune output for the job rather than accept defaults. These are useful choices when a batch must be comparable across runs:
animations: 'disabled'can reduce changes caused by animations.scale: 'css'produces one image pixel per CSS pixel.scale: 'device'captures device pixels and can create larger files on high-DPI displays.maskcan cover selected dynamic regions, while an injected stylesheet can hide or standardize elements for capture.- Set screenshot type and timeout as appropriate for the output and job. The API documents screenshot configuration and its options at Page | Playwright.
For multi-URL output, use a unique filename per URL. Numbered names preserve input order; sanitized URL-derived names can make files easier to identify, but remove or replace characters that are unsafe in paths and account for duplicate URLs.

Troubleshoot common batch failures
- The screenshot is blank or missing the expected content: navigation may have completed before the application rendered. Wait for a meaningful locator or assertion, not just a navigation event or visible body.
- Lazy images or feed items are absent: scroll the relevant page or container, wait for items to load, and capture only after a site-specific stopping condition is met.
- The script appears stuck waiting: inspect the selector and confirm it exists on that URL. Avoid treating
networkidleas a universal readiness condition, especially on pages with ongoing network activity. - Later URLs are not processed: an uncaught navigation or screenshot error exits the loop. Catch errors per URL to continue, as in the example, or deliberately rethrow to make the batch fail fast.
- Files are missing: ensure the output directory exists and the process can write to it. Use distinct filenames so repeated or duplicate URLs do not overwrite earlier captures.
- Images are unexpectedly large or soft: check whether the selected scale is
deviceorcss; high-DPI device-scale output can contain more pixels. - The final capture differs between runs: wait for stable content, disable animations where appropriate, and mask or standardize dynamic regions if they are not relevant to the comparison.

Can one Playwright page visit several URLs in sequence?
Yes. Navigate the same page repeatedly in a loop; a BrowserContext can also hold multiple pages when concurrency is appropriate.
Does fullPage capture scroll the site to trigger every lazy-loaded item?
No. It captures the full scrollable content available at capture time. Scroll and wait for dynamic content explicitly when the site requires it.
