Use a full-page or scrolling capture, but first check that the Hindi text looks correct in the browser. A screenshot records what the browser displays; it cannot repair missing Devanagari glyphs or broken matras and conjuncts. If the page itself looks right, capture the whole page with your browser or device’s built-in tool, then inspect the saved file at readable magnification.
First check whether the Hindi is already broken
Look at the live webpage before taking a screenshot. If letters, matras, or conjuncts are missing or mis-shaped there, the screenshot will preserve that display. Reload the page, try an updated browser, or open the same page in another browser to see whether it renders differently. The cause may depend on the website’s fonts, its code, or device rendering, so there is no universal screenshot setting that fixes it.

If the Hindi is correct on screen but looks damaged only in the saved long image, try a different full-page capture method and compare a short test first.

Choose a full-page capture method
Use the option that matches your device and browser. Labels and availability can vary by software version, and Android does not have one capture menu that works on every device.

Chrome on a desktop computer
- Open the webpage in Chrome and let it load.
- Open Chrome DevTools.
- Open the DevTools command menu and search for Capture full size screenshot.
- Select the command, then open the saved image and check that it contains the full page.
If the command is missing or the interface differs, check Chrome’s current controls. Firefox and Edge also offer built-in full-page capture routes; their exact controls may vary. Desktop capture is a useful fallback when a phone does not offer scrolling capture.
Safari on iPhone
- Open the webpage in Safari and take a screenshot.
- Open the screenshot preview and select Full Page, if offered.
- Use the export options shown by your iOS version to save the result.
- Open the saved file and confirm the whole page is present.
Safari’s Full Page capture may save as a PDF rather than a conventional long PNG. Check the format offered on your device before relying on it as an image.

Android phones and tablets
- Open the page and take a screenshot using your device’s usual screenshot control.
- In the screenshot preview or toolbar, look for Capture more, Scroll capture, or a similar device-maker option.
- Extend the capture through the needed content and save it.
- Inspect the result to confirm that it is complete and that text remains readable.
The scrolling option may be absent, and availability can depend on the device, Android version, and app or screen. If you do not see it, use a browser’s full-page capture on a computer or save or print the page to PDF when that format suits your needs.

Adjust page zoom
On Android Chrome, page zoom can make text more comfortable to inspect before capture. Google’s Android accessibility guidance describes page zoom controls and a default zoom setting. Zoom is a readability adjustment, not a guaranteed fix for broken Devanagari rendering. Because zoom may change line wrapping and page layout, take a short test capture before capturing the entire page.

Try Reading mode when available
Chrome Reading mode offers font-size and typeface choices on eligible pages. Google notes that some pages are not available in Reading mode, so treat it as an optional way to improve readability, not a universal repair. See Chrome Help’s Reading mode instructions.
Inspect at a useful size
Do not judge legibility by shrinking a long image until it fits a narrow screen. Open it at native resolution or crop the relevant area, if possible. That makes it easier to tell whether the Hindi is actually damaged or merely too small to read in the preview.

Prevent incomplete or awkward long captures
- Wait for the page to finish loading. If it loads images or text as you scroll, move through the page first so that lazy-loaded content has a chance to appear.
- Check for nested scroll areas. A scrollable panel inside the webpage may not be included in a page-level capture. If the Hindi text is inside one, capture that panel separately when your device or browser allows it.
- Look for repeated or overlapping elements. Sticky headers, floating chat controls, and overlays can appear more than once or cover content in a long capture.
- Inspect before sharing or deleting the source. Confirm that the image or PDF includes the intended content and that the text is legible at the size people will use.
