To attach an Apple MagSafe wallet, align it with the back of a compatible iPhone or MagSafe case and let the magnets snap it into place. Apple confirms that its wallet works on a MagSafe case, but its published guidance does not specify a particular motion for removing the wallet. Check compatibility for your exact phone and case, handle both gently, and remove the wallet before using the MagSafe chargers Apple lists.
Check your iPhone and case compatibility
Apple’s iPhone FineWoven Wallet with MagSafe listing identifies compatible iPhone models; check the current listing for your specific model because compatibility can vary as Apple updates its lineup. Apple also says the wallet can be stacked on a case with MagSafe. A case that is not MagSafe-compatible is not confirmed by these sources as a supported setup.

You can attach the wallet directly to a compatible iPhone or over a MagSafe case. The choice is about compatibility and whether you want the phone covered by a case; Apple’s published information does not compare damage rates or how firmly the wallet stays attached in those two arrangements.

- Confirm that your iPhone model is listed as compatible with the wallet. If you use a case, confirm that it is a MagSafe case.
- Hold the wallet against the back of the iPhone or case and align it so its built-in magnets can snap into place. Apple describes magnetic attachment and case stacking but does not give a more precise alignment procedure.
- Check that the wallet is seated where you intended before using the phone. Avoid forcing it against the phone or case.
Apple says its wallet holds up to three cards and is “shielded so it’s safe for credit cards.” That statement applies to the Apple wallet listing, not necessarily to every magnetic wallet.

How to remove it without rough handling
Apple’s published guidance reviewed here does not prescribe a pulling, sliding, or peeling motion for detaching the wallet. It therefore does not establish that one particular removal technique prevents damage. As general handling advice—not an Apple instruction or a tested result—support the phone or case with one hand and ease the wallet away with the other rather than yanking it or levering it against the phone’s edge. Stop if the case shifts or the wallet feels caught, then reposition your hands and try gently again.
Remove the wallet before MagSafe charging
Apple’s iPhone guide to MagSafe chargers and battery packs says to remove an attached iPhone wallet before placing the phone on a MagSafe Charger, MagSafe Duo Charger, or MagSafe Battery. This is a charging instruction; it does not mean that ordinary attachment or removal damages the phone or case.

Clean carefully if needed
For general cleaning, Apple advises using a soft, lint-free cloth and avoiding abrasive materials and excessive wiping. Keep liquids away unless the product’s own directions say otherwise. Apple’s cleaning guidance does not give a wallet-specific cleaning procedure, so do not assume that instructions for a MagSafe charger or battery apply to the wallet.
