Find the official EPFO claim-status service
EPFO lists “Know Your Claim Status” as an employee service, separate from “Member Passbook.” Start from EPFO’s own website or official member portal, rather than a sponsored search result or a lookalike site. The official member portal is at unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in.
EPFO’s member portal currently presents UAN and password sign-in for member services and depends on JavaScript. The live claim-status route or fields may differ from older help material, so follow the labels currently displayed on the official service.

Check the claim and save the page as a PDF
- Open the official service. Go to EPFO’s employee services and select “Know Your Claim Status,” or use the official member portal if that is the route offered for your account.
- Enter only the requested account details. Older EPFO instructions for the claim lookup describe selecting the relevant EPFO office and entering the PF account number. If the account has no extension, leave the extension field blank. The current portal may instead require UAN sign-in. Do not share your UAN password with another person.
- Wait until the claim result is visible. Check that the page shows the claim information you intend to preserve.
- Open the browser’s Print dialog. Use the browser menu or its print shortcut. In the printer or destination selector, choose “Save as PDF” or the equivalent option for that browser and device.
- Choose a location and filename. For example, use
PF-claim-status-2026-10-03.pdfto make the capture date clear. The exact controls vary by browser and device. - Review the saved file. Open it and confirm that the status and relevant page content are legible. If sections are missing or split awkwardly, adjust the print preview’s layout or page range and save again.
The print-to-PDF steps are general browser guidance, not a special EPFO claim procedure. EPFO’s reviewed help material does not specify browser controls.
Choose the right PDF: claim status or passbook
A PDF made from the claim-status webpage preserves the claim progress displayed on that page. A passbook PDF is a different record: it contains account information and transactions. EPFO’s older UAN manual describes a passbook download that can produce a PDF, but its navigation may no longer match the current portal. Use “Know Your Claim Status” when you need a record of claim progress, not a passbook download.

Protect the PDF and your EPFO sign-in
A claim-status PDF may contain personal or account information. Store it somewhere private, and do not post it publicly or send it to an unknown person or third-party file converter. EPFO warns members to guard against UAN and password theft, use a complex password, and never share the password. Its member portal also warns: “EPFO does not contact members to ask for any monetary deposits.” Be cautious of unsolicited requests for personal information or money.
What the saved PDF does—and does not—tell you
The file records what appeared on the page at the time you printed it. It is not a live status feed and does not guarantee that a claim has been settled. To check for a change, return to EPFO’s official service and view the claim again.

Troubleshooting
- The claim lookup fields do not match older instructions: Use the fields and directions on EPFO’s live official page. Older EPFO help documents describe a legacy office-and-account-number lookup and may not reflect today’s interface.
- The member portal does not load correctly: The current portal relies on JavaScript. Ensure JavaScript is enabled, then reload the official portal. Do not enter credentials on a lookalike page.
- The PDF is blank or missing page content: Wait for the claim result to finish loading before printing. Check the print preview, page range, and layout, then save and inspect the file again.
- You saved a passbook instead of the claim status: Return to “Know Your Claim Status” and print that result page. A passbook PDF is a separate account record.
- The saved status no longer matches the portal: The PDF is a dated snapshot. Check the official service again for the current status.
