If Claude ends a conversation or refuses a request, that alone is not the same as a suspended account. Anthropic’s published appeal process covers account suspensions or terminations, not a dedicated appeal for one ended response. Check whether you received an account restriction notice and whether you can still sign in before choosing a route.
Choose the route that matches what happened

Appeal a Claude account suspension or termination

Go to claude.ai and sign in with the account that received the restriction notice.

On the restricted-account screen, open and complete the appeal form. It requires you to be logged in as the affected user; Anthropic says its Safeguards team can investigate why the account was disabled.

Give clear, relevant details about the restriction and your account. Describe what happened without assuming that an ended conversation is the reason for an account-level action unless the notice says so.

Anthropic does not publish a fixed response time or promise reinstatement. Its appeal guidance asks users to be patient, but the timing and outcome of an individual review are not stated.
If the restriction was a warning or organization hold
Warning
For a warning, email [email protected] with details of the situation and account information. API warnings are tied to ongoing thresholds across the API account, so distinguish an API warning from a restriction on a Claude consumer account.

Organization hold
If your account remains in good standing but an organization is paused, use “Request a review” for that organization on the restricted-account screen. This is separate from the personal account appeal form.

Access your data or get help signing in
Banned Free, Pro, and Max users may still be able to log in to export data or delete their account. Export access can be limited depending on the Usage Policy violation. Check Anthropic’s safeguards guidance for details.

If you cannot log in or reach the appeal form, Anthropic’s general support guide directs users to open the Help Center messenger and select “I can’t login.” This is a general account-support route, not a stated substitute for a Safeguards appeal; available support options vary by plan. Anthropic lists repeated Usage Policy violations, account creation from an unsupported location, and Terms of Service violations among possible reasons for an account ban. These are general categories, not proof of why a particular account was restricted. Read the notice and use the route that matches its stated action.

Anthropic reported 11.4 million banned accounts, 398,000 appeals, and 42,000 appeal overturns for January–June 2026 in its Transparency Hub. Those are aggregate figures; they do not establish an individual user’s chances of overturning a restriction.
