Windows Errors? Fix Them Before They Spread
Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallOutdated Drivers Are Slowing You Down
One free scan finds every outdated or missing driver and matches the right update for your exact hardware.Free scan · exact hardware matchTo find out whether images are slowing a page, combine real-user performance data with a repeatable lab test, identify the page’s Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) element, and trace its image request from discovery to render. Then change a specific cause—such as an oversized image, a late request, or unnecessary below-the-fold loading—and measure again. An image can be the LCP element without its download size being the main source of delay.
Start with real-user data and a lab baseline
Run the exact page URL through PageSpeed Insights. Read its two evidence types separately: CrUX field data reflects real-user experiences, while Lighthouse provides a lab diagnostic run. Field results are segmented by mobile and desktop. If URL-level CrUX data is unavailable, the report may show origin-level data instead; that site-wide result may not represent the page you are investigating.

Use the field data to understand users’ experience and Lighthouse to investigate a reproducible load. Google’s web.dev guidance recommends LCP of 2.5 seconds or less for at least 75% of visits, evaluated separately for mobile and desktop. This is a user-experience target, not proof that an image caused a slow result.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?

Keep comparisons useful
- Record whether the report is page-level or origin-level, and which device segment it describes.
- Use the same page and comparable test conditions when you repeat a lab run.
- Do not treat one Lighthouse score as a substitute for field performance; lab data is useful for diagnosis and regression checks, while field data shows users’ experience.
Confirm which element is LCP
Use the LCP element diagnostic in PageSpeed Insights or Lighthouse, or inspect a load in Chrome DevTools’ Performance panel. First confirm that the recorded element is an image. LCP can instead be a large text block or video, in which case image compression is unlikely to solve the primary problem.
#1 Best Overall
- Scope of application: The spark plug tester is universal and suitable for testing and troubleshooting small or large internal/external engines such as engines, trucks, automobiles, lawn mowers, marine engines and motorcycles. It is the preferred product in any personal or professional machinery store or automobile garage.
- About use: Just connect the tester between the spark plug and the spark plug wire, and it takes about 30 seconds for the internal combustion engine to troubleshoot. If the engine can emit spark, the tester bulb reflects the spark and lights up, so as to quickly find the fault point and bad circuit of the spark plug.
- Excellent material selection: It adopts excellent rubber and metal, high-temperature resistant wire and environmental friendly acetate plastic. It works in high and low temperature environment without impact and is durable.
- Product size: 2.28 inch metal interface, 4.44 inch shaft/lamp housing, 6.53 inch sheath/cable; The internal bulb lasts for several years and is replaced by a transparent housing.
- Service: If you have any questions about the product, please contact us in time, and we will provide you with satisfactory solutions.
If it is an image, note its URL and find the corresponding request in the Network panel or performance trace. Inspect the sequence: when the request begins, how long it takes, and when the element renders. File size alone does not explain the full LCP time.
Read the timing, not just the bytes
- The request starts late: investigate when and how the browser discovers the image and whether page work or request prioritization delays it.
- The request starts promptly but takes a long time: inspect transfer size and delivery conditions; a right-sized asset or more efficient format may help.
- The request finishes promptly but LCP is still late: look at the remaining timing stages and page or server work rather than repeatedly compressing the image.
Check the image the browser actually received
Compare the delivered file’s intrinsic pixel dimensions with its rendered dimensions and the viewport or device needs. An image substantially larger than its display size may be a candidate for responsive variants. Inspect the selected network resource: the original upload or CMS configuration does not necessarily tell you which asset the browser received.

Choose format and compression by testing
Web.dev describes WebP and AVIF as modern formats that can offer better compression than older JPEG or PNG alternatives, but support differs. Its image-performance guide reports that AVIF tests have shown savings greater than 50% compared with JPEG in some cases. That is a possible result, not a guaranteed saving for a particular image or site. Check current browser support for your audience and test representative assets.
Choose lossy or lossless compression according to image content and the quality your site requires. Lossy compression can work well for detailed photos; sharp edges, high-contrast text, and flat artwork can make artifacts more noticeable. Compare the actual result at its intended display size and find a workable balance between quality and file size.

Make one targeted change and measure again
Use the evidence to choose the change, rather than applying every image optimization at once:
- Oversized LCP image: test an appropriately sized responsive candidate and, where suitable, a modern format or different compression level.
- Image request begins late: investigate discovery and prioritization. Compressing an asset cannot fix a request the browser does not start promptly.
- Below-the-fold images: consider deferring their loading, but avoid delaying the initial viewport or LCP asset unnecessarily.
- Fast image download, late LCP: inspect other LCP timing stages and page or server work.
After each relevant change, repeat the lab measurement under comparable conditions and check the LCP element and request timing again. Compare the metric and diagnostic evidence, not only the overall score. Where possible, monitor field performance after release to see whether real users’ experience improves.

Choose the right diagnostic tool
| Tool | Best use | What to keep in mind |
|---|---|---|
| PageSpeed Insights | A convenient starting point that combines CrUX field experience and Lighthouse diagnostics. | Check whether field data is URL-level or origin-level, and which device segment it covers. |
| Chrome DevTools Performance and Network panels | Inspecting a local load, LCP element and timing breakdown, and matching image request. | A local run need not match conditions experienced by all users. |
| Lighthouse | Repeatable lab audits and image-related diagnostic opportunities. | Treat audits as leads to validate, not direct proof of field outcomes. |
| WebPageTest | Another lab option named by web.dev for measuring LCP. | The cited web.dev material does not compare its current features or pricing with the other tools. |
For any result, note whether it is field or lab evidence, page- or origin-level, and which device and network conditions apply. Prefer tools that let you identify the LCP element and trace its request, and repeat checks consistently when testing a change.

If you need a screenshot of the page as part of a review or workflow, ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server. A single request returns an image or PDF; it is a screenshot tool, not a replacement for PageSpeed Insights or a performance trace. Cookie banners, newsletter popups, and chat widgets are removed before the shot, and bot checks, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits are not billed. AI agents can take screenshots through its MCP server. The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots per month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000.

Quick Recap
Troubleshoot common analysis mistakes
- You optimize an image but LCP does not improve: confirm that the image was the LCP element, then check whether its request started late or whether rendering and other page work account for the delay.
- The report shows a good score but users report slow loading: separate Lighthouse lab diagnostics from CrUX field data and check the mobile and desktop segments.
- The report has no page-specific field result: treat origin-level data as a site-wide signal, not a measurement of that individual page.
- A smaller file looks worse: compare quality at the intended display size, especially for text, sharp edges, and flat artwork; try a different compression level or format.
- A format change has inconsistent results: test representative assets and account for differing browser support instead of assuming the same savings everywhere.
