If YouTube videos in a playlist keep buffering on Airtel broadband, first lower the player’s quality and compare the same video on another device or internet connection. Those checks help show whether the problem is limited to one video, device, Wi-Fi conditions, or the Airtel connection; buffering alone does not establish an Airtel-wide outage or a playlist-specific fault.
1. Find out how broadly the problem occurs
- Compare videos: Pause and replay, try another video in the same playlist, then play a video outside it. Note whether buffering starts immediately, recurs during playback, or happens only as the next playlist video begins.
- Compare devices: Play the same title on another device connected to Airtel, if available. If only one device has trouble, focus first on that device or its YouTube app.
- Compare connections: Try the same video over another connection, such as mobile data; data charges may apply. If it works there but not on Airtel, test another device on Airtel before drawing a conclusion.
These comparisons narrow down where to investigate, but they do not by themselves identify congestion, routing, an outage, or a specific router fault. Record the video or playlist, device and app, connection, playback quality, location relative to the router, and whether others are using the network. That makes a later support report more useful.

2. Lower YouTube playback quality
While the video is playing, open Settings > Quality and select a lower available resolution instead of Auto. Retest the video and playlist. Lower quality reduces the data needed for playback but also reduces picture detail. If it stabilizes playback, the connection’s available speed or stability may not be keeping up with the selected quality at that moment; it does not prove why.

This is a recommendation in that TV guidance, not a guarantee or universal requirement for every device, video, resolution, or household. 3. Check Wi-Fi before changing equipment
- Try the device near the router, in an open position and away from obvious obstacles. If playback improves, the usual viewing location or Wi-Fi conditions may be contributing.
- Temporarily pause other heavy network use and see whether playback changes.
- If your router offers both bands, compare 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz where practical. Airtel describes 2.4 GHz as offering longer range at lower speeds and 5 GHz as offering higher speeds over a shorter range; device compatibility and distance matter.
- If the viewing device and router have Ethernet ports, try a wired connection with a suitable Cat5/Cat6 RJ45 cable. Use an existing cable first if you have one. This comparison can help distinguish Wi-Fi trouble from a broader connection issue; a cable is not a guaranteed fix.
Airtel also recommends considering router placement and device compatibility in its YouTube buffering guidance.
4. Check Airtel equipment and connection
- Check that the ONT/router has power and that the relevant internet or Wi-Fi indicators are on. Make sure the power and network cables are seated correctly. Handle any fiber patch cable carefully and do not bend it sharply.
- If you are comfortable restarting the equipment, disconnect ONT/router power, wait 15–20 seconds, reconnect it, and allow the connection to re-establish before restarting the viewing device.
- If available, open the Airtel Thanks app and look under broadband > My Wi-Fi > Wi-Fi > Optimize Wi-Fi. App labels may change.
- If the connection remains unstable, indicators show a fault, or YouTube and other services fail across multiple devices, contact Airtel through its official Help and Support page or available support channels. Do not replace provider equipment or fiber cabling based only on buffering.

5. If only one device or the YouTube app is affected
- Close and reopen YouTube, then restart the device.
- Update the YouTube app or browser. On devices that support it, clear the YouTube app cache.
- Try another supported device or playback method. On a TV, YouTube also suggests checking for system updates or casting from another device.
- If several streaming services have trouble on the same device, consult the device manufacturer’s support site.
- To report an app problem, YouTube provides profile > Help and Feedback > Send Feedback.
