In Windows 11, adjust pointer speed from Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Mouse using the Mouse pointer speed slider. You do not need to open Mouse Properties to change speed; that dialog’s Pointer Options tab contains related settings such as pointer precision and visibility.
Change mouse pointer speed in Windows 11
- Open Start > Settings, or press Windows key + I.
- Select Bluetooth & devices > Mouse.
- Move the Mouse pointer speed slider. Adjust it incrementally until movement suits your needs; Windows does not prescribe a universally ideal position.
Microsoft’s instructions say to use the slider next to Mouse pointer speed on the Bluetooth & devices > Mouse page to set pointer speed. Microsoft Support: Change mouse settings.

Open Mouse Properties for related pointer options
- On the Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Mouse page, expand Related settings if necessary.
- Select Additional mouse settings to open the Mouse Properties dialog.
- Choose the Pointer Options tab.
These options affect pointer behavior, not the Mouse pointer speed slider:

- Enhance pointer precision changes pointer behavior to improve accuracy when the mouse moves slowly.
- Display pointer trails adds trails as the pointer moves.
- Hide pointer while typing hides the pointer during typing.
Some apps might not support Snap To, another setting described in Microsoft’s mouse-settings guidance.

Mouse pointer speed is different from Mouse Keys speed
Mouse Keys is an accessibility feature that moves the pointer with a numeric keypad. Its controls are separate: open Settings > Accessibility > Mouse. Changing Mouse Keys speed does not change the regular mouse pointer speed slider.
