Palworld does not currently document a standalone dungeon-respawn setting. On a supported server, you can shorten timers broadly by increasing DayTimeSpeedRate and NightTimeSpeedRate. On a compatible PC/Windows host, a UE4SS Lua mod can set an exact cooldown in seconds for fixed-dungeon bosses. The two approaches have different scope, platform requirements and side effects.

Is there an official dungeon-respawn slider?
No. Pocketpair’s current official server-parameter table does not list a DungeonRespawnTime, dungeon-boss cooldown, or equivalent standalone control. It does list rates for the passage of daytime and nighttime, along with CollectionObjectRespawnSpeedRate for gatherable objects. The collection setting is not a dungeon-boss timer.

The distinction matters because changing the world clock is only an indirect workaround. It can make several timed systems move faster, whereas a dedicated cooldown mod can target a narrower class of encounters.
Choose the method that matches your goal

If you want every timed activity in a world to run faster and can accept global effects, use the server settings. If you want a particular fixed-dungeon boss to become available after a predictable number of seconds, use the mod and confirm that the encounter is in its supported scope.

Method 1: Change the official server settings
What the two relevant rates do
DayTimeSpeedRatecontrols the speed of daytime progression.NightTimeSpeedRatecontrols the speed of nighttime progression.
Raising these values accelerates the in-game clock. Because some dungeon and boss timers advance with world time, that can reduce the time you wait between attempts. It is not a dungeon-only multiplier: resource timing and other systems tied to the clock can also change.
Change a local dedicated server
- Stop the server cleanly. Editing an active configuration can be overwritten or ignored when the process shuts down.
- Back up the active settings file. Copy the file before making changes so you can restore the previous values.
- Open the active file at:
steamappscommonPalServerPalSavedConfigWindowsServerPalWorldSettings.ini. - Edit the existing world-settings entry for
DayTimeSpeedRateandNightTimeSpeedRate. Keep the file’s syntax intact; change only the values you intend to test. - Save the file and restart the server. The new rates are not a live client-side preference.
- Enter the world and watch the dungeon entrance timer. Use the timer shown in the current game build as the practical check that the change is taking effect.
Pocketpair’s guide instructs administrators to edit PalWorldSettings.ini. Do not edit DefaultPalWorldSettings.ini expecting that file to change an already configured server; it is not the active per-server settings file.

Change a hosted dedicated server
- Stop the Palworld server from the hosting control panel.
- Open the panel’s Properties, Configuration, or equivalent server-settings page.
- Locate
DayTimeSpeedRateandNightTimeSpeedRate. - Increase the values, save the configuration, and start or restart the server.
- Check the live dungeon entrance timer in game rather than assuming that a panel save alone applied the change.
Panel labels differ between providers, but the important sequence is the same: stop, edit the authoritative server configuration, save, restart, and verify in game.
Understand the side effects before using this workaround
- The change is world-wide, not limited to dungeons.
- Day and night progression changes along with any systems that use those clocks.
- Resource and other timed activities may complete, expire or cycle at different real-world intervals.
- All players on that server experience the altered timing.
For a cooperative world, tell players that the setting affects more than dungeon runs. If the broader timing is undesirable, restore the backup and restart the server again.

Method 2: Set an exact fixed-dungeon boss cooldown with UE4SS
What the mod controls
The “Dungeon Boss Respawn Time Modify” UE4SS Lua mod rewrites the server-authoritative cooldown for supported fixed-dungeon bosses. Its configuration is:

}RespawnTimeSeconds is measured in seconds. For example, 30 requests 30 seconds, 600 requests 10 minutes, and 3600 requests one hour. Values are rounded to whole seconds. A value that is zero, or rounds to zero, is clamped to a one-second minimum.

Install and configure it on the authoritative instance
- Confirm that the computer running the authoritative game is a compatible PC/Windows installation with UE4SS support.
- Install the mod according to its current Nexus Mods instructions on the single-player game, the co-op host, or the dedicated server. A joining client is not the authority that owns the timer.
- Open the mod’s configuration file and set
RespawnTimeSecondsto the desired whole-second interval. - Leave
ApplyToExistingCooldowns = trueif already-running cooldowns should be re-timed when the mod applies. Set it tofalseif you want the new value to affect only cooldowns created afterward. - Keep
Debug = falseunless you are troubleshooting and need the mod’s diagnostic output. - Restart Palworld or restart the dedicated server after saving the configuration.
- Defeat or capture a supported fixed-dungeon boss, then observe the next available time to confirm the configured interval.
Know exactly what is and is not covered
The mod is intended for fixed-dungeon bosses and supports both defeats and captures. It does not cover every timed encounter. The documented exclusions are:
- Field Alpha bosses
- Raid bosses
- Tower bosses
- Random cave-dungeon timers
Therefore, installing the mod does not guarantee that every boss or every cave entrance will use the same interval. Identify the encounter type first. If it is a random cave dungeon or one of the excluded boss categories, changing this configuration will not solve that timer.
Multiplayer authority is the most common installation mistake
The mod page explicitly states that a joining client cannot change the authoritative respawn time. In co-op, install and configure it on the player hosting the session. On a dedicated server, install it on the server process. Installing it only on a client may appear successful locally while leaving the actual server timer unchanged.

A third-party Palworld reference currently lists 11 cave dungeons and 140 layout variants. It describes each cave dungeon as running on a 299-minute cycle, temporarily closing when that cycle lapses, and continuing to count while a player is logged out.
Those figures are a reference point, not an immutable game rule. Dungeon behavior can change with game updates, and a displayed entrance timer is more reliable than an older guide. Treat the live timer at the entrance as the source of truth for the version you are playing.
Troubleshooting when the timer does not change
The server ignores your INI edit
- Make sure the server was stopped before editing and restarted afterward.
- Verify that you edited
PalWorldSettings.iniin theWindowsServerpath, notDefaultPalWorldSettings.ini. - Confirm that the hosting panel did not overwrite the file during startup.
- Check the live in-game timer after joining the restarted world.
The mod loads, but a boss still uses the old cooldown
- Check that the mod is installed on the host or dedicated server rather than only on a joining client.
- Restart the game or server after changing the configuration.
- Confirm that the encounter is a fixed-dungeon boss and not a field Alpha, raid, tower, or random cave-dungeon timer.
- If
ApplyToExistingCooldownsis false, wait for an old cooldown to finish and test a newly created one. - Check that
RespawnTimeSecondsis a whole number greater than zero; a zero value becomes a one-second minimum rather than a disabled timer.
The world clock changed too many systems
That is expected from the official-settings method. Restore your backed-up configuration, or lower the day and night rates, then restart the server. Use the UE4SS method instead when you need a narrower fixed-dungeon-boss change and your host meets its platform requirements.
Recommended decision
Use the official day/night rates when you administer a server without mods and can accept world-wide timing changes. Use the UE4SS configuration when you need an explicit seconds value for a supported fixed-dungeon boss and can run the mod on the authoritative PC/Windows host. Neither method is a universal control for every Palworld dungeon timer, so classify the encounter and verify the entrance timer after each game update.
