You can adjust bass on some Bose SoundLink speakers through the Bose app, but the controls depend on the exact model and generation. Bose explicitly documents Adjustable EQ for the SoundLink Micro (2nd Gen) and SoundLink Plus; its materials also describe app EQ for the SoundLink Max. Start by checking your speaker’s model name and generation, then look for EQ in that speaker’s controls in the Bose app.
Check your SoundLink model first
“Bose SoundLink” covers multiple speakers with different app support. Find the model name and, where applicable, generation printed on the speaker or shown in the app before following steps. Bose documents different companion apps for different product groups, and compatibility with an app does not necessarily mean that it includes a bass slider.

| SoundLink model | What Bose documents | What to try |
|---|---|---|
| SoundLink Micro (2nd Gen) | Bose says Adjustable EQ in the Bose app lets you change bass, treble, and mid-levels. Bose SoundLink Micro (2nd Gen) | Add or connect the speaker in the Bose app and look for its EQ control. |
| SoundLink Plus | Bose documents Adjustable EQ through the Bose app, including the ability to raise bass. Bose SoundLink Plus | Open the speaker’s controls in the Bose app and adjust bass in EQ. |
| SoundLink Max | Bose product material describes app EQ for bass, midrange, and treble. Bose SoundLink Max product story | Check the Bose app for the speaker’s EQ controls. |
| SoundLink Flex (2nd Gen) | Bose lists it as compatible with the Bose app. That compatibility listing alone does not specify an EQ control. Bose apps and compatibility | Check the Bose app and the current model-specific support information for an EQ control. |
| Earlier SoundLink models listed for Bose Connect | Bose lists SoundLink Color II, Flex, Micro, Revolve, Revolve+, Revolve II, and Revolve+ II as Bose Connect-compatible. The listing does not establish bass EQ for each model. Bose Connect compatibility | Do not assume Bose Connect has a bass slider; verify support for the precise model. |
Adjust bass in the Bose app when your model supports EQ
- Identify the model and generation of your SoundLink speaker.
- Connect or add that speaker in the Bose app, if Bose lists the model as app-compatible.
- Open the speaker’s controls and look for its EQ feature.
- Adjust bass to your preference. If the control is absent, check the model-specific Bose support information rather than assuming another SoundLink’s controls apply.
Bose’s published product pages establish EQ on the models named above but do not provide a universal, SoundLink-specific sequence of screen labels or slider values. The app interface may vary by model or change over time, so follow the controls currently shown for your speaker rather than relying on instructions for Bose headphones or soundbars.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteIf you do not see a bass control
- Confirm the exact model and generation; similarly named SoundLink speakers may have different app capabilities.
- Check the product’s current Bose support information to see which app and settings apply.
- Try the equalizer in the connected phone, tablet, or music player if that source provides one. Its adjustments apply at the source and are separate from a speaker EQ control.
- Do not treat Bose Connect compatibility as proof that your speaker supports adjustable bass. Bose’s compatibility page names older SoundLink products but does not promise EQ for each one.
What the model distinction means
Bose’s 2025 announcement describes the Bose app as the gateway for the SoundLink Plus, Micro (2nd Gen), Flex (2nd Gen), and Max. That is app access, not proof that every one of those products has identical EQ controls. Bose explicitly identifies Adjustable EQ for the Micro (2nd Gen) and Plus, and describes EQ adjustment for the Max; use the model-specific app controls to confirm what is available on your Flex (2nd Gen).
