How to Add the SiteLock Trust Seal to Your Website

Add the SiteLock-generated Trust Seal snippet to your page, header, or footer, then publish and allow up to 24 hours for changes to appear.

To install a SiteLock Trust Seal, customize it in your SiteLock dashboard, save the settings, copy the generated Install Code, and add that snippet to the part of your website where you want the badge to appear. Publish the site changes, then allow up to 24 hours for them to show. The exact place to add code depends on your site platform.

Before you start

You need access to the SiteLock dashboard for the website and permission to edit or publish its site code. Use the snippet generated for your site; SiteLock describes the Trust Seal as a code snippet that displays a badge, not as a static image. See SiteLock’s “Configure SiteLock Trust Seal” help article.

How to install the SiteLock Trust Seal

  1. Sign in to the SiteLock dashboard for the website.
  2. Open the Trust Seal customization controls. Choose the language, color, size, and style you want.
  3. Save the configuration.
  4. Copy the Install Code snippet shown in the dashboard.
  5. Add the snippet to the site location where you want the seal to display. Common options are the index, header, or footer file. In a content management system (CMS), look for a custom-code setting or widget for the header or footer.
  6. Save or publish the site changes, then check the live page. Allow up to 24 hours for updates to appear.

Choose where the badge should appear

For a badge on one page, place the code in that page’s relevant site code. For a site-wide badge, a header or footer placement is a common option. SiteLock says the seal can be installed at the top or bottom of a website; if you need a more specific custom position, ask your site administrator or developer to account for the layout and viewport breakpoints.

Using a website builder

In a website builder, use its supported custom-code component or setting rather than pasting the snippet into an unrelated text field. For example, one.com’s instructions use the Code component, which can be positioned on a page or in a header or footer, followed by saving and publishing. That component is available on one.com’s Premium and Business + E-commerce tiers; this is specific to that platform, not a general SiteLock requirement.

Why the Trust Seal may be missing

The seal is connected to SiteLock’s dashboard and security-check results, rather than being an unconditional badge. SiteLock documentation says consecutive failures in dashboard security reports can cause it to be hidden until the issues are corrected. Review the failures in the dashboard and resolve them; the seal may take up to 24 hours to return. SiteLock’s documentation also describes the seal as tied to an active subscription and the security checks included with that service. See SiteLock’s configuration instructions and Sectigo / SiteLock Documentation on the Trust Seal.

Troubleshoot a seal that does not appear

  • Confirm the snippet is in the intended location. Check that you copied the dashboard’s Install Code and added it to the page, header, or footer where the badge should display.
  • Confirm the site changes were published. Saving a draft or a builder component may not update the live site until you publish.
  • Allow time for the update. SiteLock says changes to seal settings and restoration after issues are resolved can take up to 24 hours to appear.
  • Check the dashboard’s security reports. Consecutive failed checks can hide the badge; address the reported issues rather than treating the seal as a static graphic.
  • Escalate if it remains absent. If it is still missing after the stated wait, contact SiteLock Support. For a placement or platform-code problem, ask the site administrator or consult the website builder’s documentation.

Do you need to reinstall the code after changing the seal?

Usually, no. SiteLock says saved configuration changes can take up to 24 hours to appear without adding the existing snippet again. Reinstalling the code is therefore not the first step when you have only changed the badge’s language, color, size, or style.
