The exact ShrinkTheWeb code cannot be safely specified here: the available integration examples are old and do not verify a current Blogger snippet or service requirements.
Add a screenshot in a Blogger layout area
- Sign in to Blogger and select the blog you want to edit.
- Open Layout.
- Choose Add a Gadget in the page area where the screenshot should appear, such as the sidebar or footer.
- Select HTML/JavaScript.
- Paste the current markup or image-URL format supplied by ShrinkTheWeb into the gadget’s content field. Add a title only if you want one displayed.
- Save the gadget and save the layout if Blogger prompts you to do so.
- Preview the published blog on desktop and mobile to check placement and appearance.
Blogger describes layout sections as page areas containing widgets, and its layout reference documents an HTML/JavaScript widget with title and content fields. That makes the gadget a suitable container for supplied embed markup, but it does not establish that every external script works with every Blogger theme.

Use theme HTML only for template-level placement
If the screenshot needs to be placed somewhere that an ordinary gadget area cannot accommodate, Blogger also documents editing the theme: open Theme → More → Edit HTML, make the template change, then save. This route affects template markup rather than one chosen widget area, so use it only when the gadget approach does not meet the placement need. Consider backing up the theme before editing.

Get the current ShrinkTheWeb snippet before pasting
The accessible ShrinkTheWeb integration examples are dated and platform-specific, so they are not a reliable source for present-day Blogger code. A Drupal module guide last updated March 4, 2019 describes keys and capture settings; the Drupal project page says that project appeared no longer supported as of January 31, 2022. Neither statement establishes whether the ShrinkTheWeb service itself is currently available. A WordPress.com plugin listing last updated August 4, 2017 shows the WordPress shortcode [stwthumb]...[/stwthumb]; that is not Blogger syntax and should not be copied into this gadget as if it were a current Blogger integration.
Before embedding, obtain current instructions directly from ShrinkTheWeb and confirm whether the service requires account setup or credentials. Do not put a secret credential in public page source. The available material does not verify the current key format, API URL, pricing, plan limits, refresh behavior, caching, or supported capture options.

Check the result and troubleshoot common problems
- The gadget saves but nothing appears: open the screenshot URL independently, then confirm that the markup matches ShrinkTheWeb’s current instructions and that any required account configuration is complete.
- The code is displayed as text: verify that you chose the HTML/JavaScript gadget and pasted the supplied embed markup into its content field, rather than into a plain-text gadget.
- The screenshot is in the wrong place: return to Layout and add or move the gadget to the intended section. Use theme HTML only if the placement cannot be achieved with a gadget.
- The layout works on desktop but not mobile: preview the published site at both sizes and check whether the chosen theme’s mobile layout includes the area where the gadget was placed.
- The image or script fails after publishing: check the current ShrinkTheWeb instructions for the required embed method and any account or access settings. The older examples do not establish present troubleshooting behavior.

ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server. It returns a screenshot or PDF from one GET request, but it is an alternative workflow rather than a ShrinkTheWeb-specific Blogger snippet: use its API to generate a screenshot, then follow Blogger’s current supported method for displaying that output.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFor example, this cURL request saves a screenshot of the Stripe homepage as WebP. Replace the target URL as needed and use your own API key. See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for the current parameters and response behavior.
