Add up to 10 local video files, then play each one manually when it is time. They do not autoplay as a playlist. If you need a video to start unattended at a scheduled time, use StreamYard’s separate Pre-recorded video broadcast instead; that workflow schedules one video.
Choose the right StreamYard workflow
| What you need | Use | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| Several segments in a host-run live broadcast | Studio Present > Video file | Queue up to 10 videos and start each manually. StreamYard’s studio video instructions explain the feature. |
| One prerecorded video to start automatically at a selected time | Pre-recorded video broadcast | Schedule one uploaded or past video; it starts at the scheduled time without you entering the studio. See StreamYard’s prerecorded stream instructions. |
| A short recurring intro or outro | Studio video clips or automatic intro/outro feature | This is a different feature with separate limits and plan availability; it is not the long-form video queue. See StreamYard’s video clips information. |
Add multiple videos to a live studio broadcast
1. Prepare the files and YouTube destination
Keep the video files on the computer you will use to run the StreamYard studio. StreamYard says MP4 and MOV work best for sharing a local video file. Create or enter a live studio broadcast and select your YouTube channel as a destination. If it is not connected, add it as a destination before going live. Follow the studio video instructions and the broadcast creation instructions.

2. Add the first video
- In the studio, click Present.
- Choose Video file.
- Select a local file. It is added to the stream automatically unless automatic addition has been turned off in studio settings.
3. Queue the remaining clips
Repeat Present > Video file for each segment. You can queue up to 10 videos. The queue is not an autoplay playlist: when a clip ends, you must start the next one yourself.
4. Control playback while live
Hover over a shared video to play or pause it, scrub through it, adjust its volume, or mute it. You can change the layout and talk over the video. To add shared videos without putting them on air immediately, first turn off Automatically add shared screens/videos to stream under Settings > General; then bring each into the stream when needed.

5. Go live and trigger each segment
Start the YouTube broadcast, then click play on each queued video in the intended order. Scheduling a studio broadcast creates a scheduled post, but it does not start the hosted show for you: enter the studio at broadcast time and click Go Live. StreamYard’s instructions for creating a broadcast describe that step.
What the video queue does—and does not—do
- It is session-based. Shared videos are not saved as account media. If you leave the studio or refresh the page, they are removed and must be added again.
- There is no stated file-size or duration limit for this local studio-sharing feature. That is different from uploading a video for an automatically scheduled prerecorded stream.
- Audio is mono. StreamYard says the long-form shared-video feature outputs mono audio, compressing stereo audio to a mono track.
- The host advances the queue. The feature supports multiple videos, but does not automatically play them one after another.
These details are documented in StreamYard’s studio video article. Labels and feature limits can change, so consult the current Help Center if your interface differs.

When you need an unattended scheduled video
Choose Pre-recorded video when you want one video to begin automatically at a chosen time without entering the live studio. Its upload rules are plan-specific: StreamYard’s current Help Center article lists file-size limits of up to 10 GB on Core and Advanced and 25 GB on Teams and Business; video-duration limits of up to 2 hours on Core, 4 hours on Advanced, and 8 hours on Teams and Business; and a maximum upload bitrate of 10 Mbps. These limits apply to the prerecorded upload workflow, not the local studio queue. Check the current prerecorded stream article for plan details.
For a scheduled prerecorded stream, StreamYard says the YouTube link appears at the scheduled announcement-post time, or when the stream goes live if there is no announcement. Setting an earlier announcement is the documented way to make the link available sooner. This timing rule is separate from a scheduled studio broadcast, which still requires the host to enter the studio and click Go Live.

Troubleshooting the multiple-video workflow
A video is on the queue but not visible to viewers
Check whether Automatically add shared screens/videos to stream is disabled under Settings > General. If it is off, the host must bring the shared video into the stream when it is needed.
The next clip did not start
That is expected: queued studio videos do not autoplay. Hover over the next video and click play when you are ready to switch segments.

The queue disappeared
Shared files are session material, not saved account media. After refreshing or leaving the studio, add the files again through Present > Video file.
The video’s audio sounds different
The studio sharing feature outputs mono audio, so stereo tracks are compressed to mono. If that is unsuitable for the program, account for the limitation before using this workflow.
A prerecorded upload exceeds a limit
Confirm that you are using the intended plan’s upload size and duration limits and that the upload bitrate is no more than 10 Mbps. Those restrictions apply to scheduled prerecorded uploads, not to sharing local files in the studio. StreamYard mentions HandBrake as an optional compression route for upload or lag trouble in its prerecorded stream guidance.
Or let it run in the cloud
If your real goal is an always-on YouTube stream of uploaded videos rather than a host-triggered show, StreamNeo is a different option: upload your recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It loops uploaded videos from the cloud, so nothing has to stay on at home. Each slot streams the video as uploaded at any quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price, and StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. See StreamNeo or review the copyright safety checklist before streaming prerecorded material. Start your free first day with StreamNeo.
