Some models use Google Play, Sharp AQUOS Roku TVs use Roku’s channel catalog, and older AQUOS NET sets may offer only a limited list of built-in services. Find your TV’s model number and identify its platform first; then follow the matching steps below.
Identify your Sharp AQUOS TV’s model and platform
Check the model number on the label on the television, or look in Settings for an About, System, or device-information screen. Use the complete model number when searching Sharp’s consumer support portal for product documentation. The reviewed Sharp materials cover several platforms, but do not provide a complete model-by-model platform lookup, so don’t assume that every AQUOS TV has the same menus or app store.

Once you know the model, check its manual or product page for the installed platform. Android TV, Google TV, Roku TV, Xumo TV, and older AQUOS NET interfaces have different app catalogs and navigation.
Add an app using your TV’s platform
Android TV with Google Play
If your AQUOS model has Android TV and Google Play, open the Apps area or Google Play Store, search for the app, select it, and follow the on-screen installation prompts. Sharp’s specification sheet confirms this setup for the 4T-C70BK2UD specifically; it is not a guide to every AQUOS model. Menus and app availability can vary by software version and country.
#1 Best Overall
- Deep Chroma Quantum Dot Technology
- Dolby Vision
- Voice Control Remote
- Alexa And Apple Home Integration
Sharp notes that services may vary by country and language, and that most streaming media sources require a membership. Installing an app does not necessarily include access to its paid content.
Roku TV
On an AQUOS Roku TV, open the Roku home screen and go to the streaming-channel or app catalog. Search for the desired channel, select it, and use the on-screen add flow. Sharp describes Roku as the built-in platform on its Roku TV models, but catalog contents and menu steps can change.
Google TV
On an AQUOS model identified as Google TV, use the Google TV Apps or search interface to find the app and follow the prompts on screen. Do not use Android TV or Roku instructions unless the TV’s own interface identifies that platform; the menus are not interchangeable.

Xumo TV
On an AQUOS Xumo TV, use its on-screen app interface to browse or search for available services and follow the displayed prompts. Sharp identifies Xumo TV models in its product lineup, but the exact steps and catalog may depend on the model, region, and software version.

Older AQUOS NET models
Some older sets do not have a general-purpose app store. For the LC-40LE830U, LC-46LE830U, LC-52LE830U, and LC-60LE830U, Sharp’s operation manual describes pressing APPS, choosing AQUOS ADVANTAGE LIVE, and selecting an available service. It also describes opening the AQUOS NET home page and choosing a listed title. These instructions apply to that model family’s legacy service interface; they do not mean that all older AQUOS TVs can download arbitrary modern apps. The manual notes that “The services displayed vary depending on circumstances,” and that display behavior can change after software updates.

- Check that the TV is connected to the internet.
- Where the platform offers a country or region setting, confirm it is set correctly.
- Search the TV’s own app store or channel catalog using the app’s official name.
- Check for a TV software update, then consult the manual for your exact model.
- If the app still does not appear, it may not support that model, platform, or region. Contact Sharp through its consumer support portal for model-specific assistance and documentation.
As an alternative, a compatible HDMI streaming player may offer the app through its own platform. This does not install the app into the Sharp TV: the player runs its own interface and connects to the TV over HDMI. Before buying one, check that your television has a compatible HDMI input and that the player supports the app in your region. A subscription may still be required.
Use this sequence to troubleshoot app installation
- Find the full model number. Read the TV label or check its Settings/About or System screen.
- Identify the platform. Confirm whether the set uses Android TV, Google TV, Roku TV, Xumo TV, or an older AQUOS NET interface.
- Confirm internet access. Connect the TV to the network before searching its catalog.
- Open the platform’s own catalog. Use Google Play, Roku’s channel catalog, or the interface built into the TV. Avoid looking for a generic “Sharp app store” unless the model documentation identifies one.
- Search and check availability. Look up the app by its official name and follow the on-screen prompts if it is listed.
- Update or consult the manual. If the app is missing, check for a TV software update and find the model-specific instructions through Sharp support.
- Consider an HDMI player only if needed. Verify its HDMI connection and app support; it will use its own app platform rather than adding apps to the TV itself.
Why there is no universal AQUOS app-store path
Sharp’s AQUOS range includes TVs built around different smart platforms as well as older network-service interfaces. The platform determines where apps are found, what the catalog offers, and whether an app can be installed at all. The practical starting point is therefore the complete model number—not a single button sequence intended for every Sharp television.
