Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsTo show a live viewer count in OBS, add a Streamlabs Viewer Count widget as a Browser source: copy its widget URL from the Streamlabs Dashboard, paste it into OBS, and size the source to fit your scene. You can also add the widget through the Streamlabs plugin for OBS or use its built-in source in Streamlabs Desktop.
Choose how to add the viewer count
The URL method works in OBS without the Streamlabs plugin and in other streaming software that supports a browser or web-page source. OBS Browser Source loads a URL inside your scene; the OBS Project describes it as “one of the most versatile sources available in OBS.”

| Method | What you need | Best fit |
|---|---|---|
| OBS Browser source | A Streamlabs widget URL and software with a browser source | OBS users who do not want to install the Streamlabs plugin, or users of other compatible software |
| Streamlabs plugin in OBS | The Streamlabs plugin, installed and logged in | OBS users who prefer adding the widget from Streamlabs inside OBS |
| Streamlabs Desktop source | Streamlabs Desktop | People already building scenes in Streamlabs Desktop |
Streamlabs’ setup guide lists Twitch, YouTube, Facebook, Kick, and Trovo for the widget, while its Viewer Counter product page lists Twitch, YouTube, Facebook, and Kick. Because those official pages differ, check the platform toggles currently shown in your own Streamlabs Dashboard before relying on Trovo support. Basic widget setup does not require Streamlabs Ultra; the support guide says unique themes are an Ultra feature.
Add the widget to OBS with a Browser source
- Get the widget URL. Sign in to the Streamlabs Dashboard and open All Widgets → Viewer Count.
- Choose platforms and appearance. Select the platform or platforms the widget should count. Set its font style, size, weight, and color; custom HTML/CSS controls are also available.
- Copy the URL. Copy the widget URL from the Dashboard. Treat the URL as a private widget link: do not post it publicly if you do not want others to access the widget.
- Add a Browser source in OBS. Select the scene where the count should appear, click the add-source control, and choose Browser.
- Set the source URL and viewport. Paste the widget URL in the URL field. Set width and height to suit the widget, then confirm the source.
- Place it in the scene. Drag the source into position and resize it in the OBS preview. Check the scene at the stream’s output size so the count is readable without covering important content.
OBS Browser Source has a default viewport of 800 × 600 and a default custom frame rate of 30 FPS. These are OBS source defaults, not dimensions or frame-rate requirements for the Streamlabs widget. Adjust the viewport to the widget’s needs rather than assuming the defaults are optimal.

Other Streamlabs setup routes
Use the Streamlabs plugin in OBS
- Install and log in to the Streamlabs plugin for OBS.
- Open Streamlabs from OBS’s navigation menu and select Viewer Count.
- Click +Add. The source is added to the current scene.
- Move and resize it in the preview. To adjust the widget configuration later, use its Settings route to return to the Dashboard.
Use Streamlabs Desktop
- In the Sources panel, click + Add Source.
- Choose Viewer Count and add the source.
- Adjust the visual settings and click Done.
- Drag and resize the source in the scene preview.
Customize the count without obscuring the stream
Use the Dashboard’s appearance controls to make the number legible against both dark and bright footage. Keep the widget compact, give it enough contrast, and place it where it does not hide captions, gameplay information, or other essential overlays. If you use custom HTML or CSS, preview the result in the actual scene before going live.
The platform selection matters as much as appearance: the widget can tally only the platforms available to select in the Dashboard. Verify that selection directly rather than inferring availability from an older guide or product page.

Fix a missing or incorrectly sized widget
- Nothing appears: Recheck that the URL was copied completely and pasted into the Browser source URL field. Confirm the source is visible in the scene and that the scene is the one currently being previewed.
- The widget is clipped or too small: Adjust the Browser source’s width and height, then reposition or resize it in the scene. The viewport controls the webpage area available to the widget.
- It shows stale information or fails to update: Use OBS Browser Source’s cache refresh control. You can also enable the option to refresh the source when its scene becomes active.
- The source affects performance while hidden: OBS offers an option to unload a Browser source when hidden. Consider enabling it if the widget does not need to remain loaded outside its scene.
- A platform is missing from the widget settings: Check the current Dashboard toggles. Streamlabs’ support and product pages list different platform sets, so do not assume a listed platform is currently supported in your account.
- Custom styling does not look right: Review the widget’s font and color settings or custom CSS, then inspect it against the scene background at the intended size.
OBS documents Browser Source for Windows and macOS, and for Linux through official packages. Its properties also include local-file loading, custom frame rate, custom CSS, and page permissions; for a Streamlabs widget URL, the URL field is the relevant input.

Or let it run in the cloud
A viewer-count overlay is separate from keeping a YouTube stream live. If you want uploaded videos to loop as a 24/7 YouTube stream without leaving a computer running, StreamNeo uploads your video, uses your YouTube stream key, and runs the stream from the cloud. You can keep using OBS for a viewer-count overlay when you need one.
