In OBS, add your looping clip as a Media Source, add your logo as an Image Source, and place the logo above the video in the Sources list. Enable Loop on the clip, position the logo in the preview or with Edit Transform, then test the scene and stream settings before going live.
Build the scene with a looping video and logo
- Create or select a scene. In OBS, choose the scene where the loop and logo should appear. A scene can combine multiple sources.
- Add the video loop. In the Sources dock, select the add-source control, choose Media Source, and select your local video file. In the source properties, enable Loop so playback starts again when the file ends. OBS lists MP4, TS, MOV, FLV, MKV, AVI, GIF, and WebM among supported media formats. OBS Media Sources guide
- Add the logo. Use the Sources add control and choose Image Source, then select the logo file. A transparent PNG is useful if the artwork needs to sit cleanly over the video; OBS supports image sources, but does not prescribe a particular logo format in its guide.
- Put the logo on top. Drag the logo source above the Media Source in the Sources list. Higher sources appear above lower sources in the preview. Check that the logo’s eye icon is enabled. OBS Sources Guide
- Position and size it. Select the logo and drag its bounding box in the preview for quick placement. For exact values, select the source and choose Edit → Transform → Edit Transform (Ctrl-E on Windows or Cmd-E on macOS). The transform menu also includes Fit to Screen, Stretch to Screen, and Center to Screen. Avoid stretching the logo if that changes its proportions.
- Test the result. Inspect the preview, then make a brief test recording or test stream to check the composition and configuration before the broadcast. OBS recommends testing settings to catch configuration or performance issues. OBS Quick Start Guide
Choose between one clip and a playlist

The regular Media Source provides a direct single-file loop setting; VLC Video Source adds playlist support but depends on VLC being installed. OBS Media Sources guide

Make the logo fit without distorting it
- For fast placement, drag the selected logo’s bounding box in the preview.
- For exact position and size, open Edit → Transform → Edit Transform and enter the desired values.
- To crop, hold Alt on Windows/Linux or Option on macOS while dragging a bounding-box handle. Cropping is different from resizing and is useful only when part of the source should be hidden.
- If the logo looks stretched, undo or edit its transform and resize it while preserving its proportions.
These controls affect the selected source, so select the logo before changing its transform. OBS Sources Guide

Connect OBS to YouTube Live and check before broadcasting
Configure the streaming service and stream key in OBS using its current stream workflow, then test before going live. The OBS setup guides cover connecting a service and key, but they do not establish whether a particular YouTube account is eligible to stream or describe current YouTube account rules. Check YouTube’s current Live guidance and your Live Control Room for account-specific requirements; do not treat a correctly configured OBS scene as proof that the channel can broadcast. Before starting, confirm that the loop plays, the logo remains visible in the intended position, the selected service and key are correct, and a brief test completes as expected.
Troubleshoot common overlay and loop problems
- The logo is hidden behind the video: Move its source above the Media Source in the Sources list and make sure its eye icon is enabled.
- The background stops at the end: Open the Media Source properties and enable Loop. For a playlist, check Loop Playlist on the VLC Video Source.
- The playlist source is unavailable: Install VLC. If using 64-bit OBS, the OBS documentation specifies 64-bit VLC.
- The logo is too large or distorted: Select the logo, adjust its transform, and resize without changing its proportions. Use Edit Transform when you need exact positioning or dimensions.
- OBS performance worsens: Keep the scene to the sources and filters you need. OBS notes that sources and filters use resources; for a static logo, an Image Source is simpler than a browser overlay. OBS Encoding Performance Troubleshooting
- The OBS preview looks right but the broadcast does not start: Recheck the service and stream-key configuration, test again, and verify channel eligibility and current live-stream requirements in YouTube’s own controls. OBS scene setup alone cannot resolve YouTube account restrictions.
