The Fitbit Air’s alarm is designed to alert or wake you with a vibration at a set time. Whether that changes your morning routine is personal, but Google documents how to dismiss the alarm, what happens if you do nothing, and how to manage alarms in the Google Health app.
What the Fitbit Air alarm does
Google says alarms on Fitbit devices vibrate to alert or wake the wearer at a set time. That makes the Air’s alarm a wearable alternative to an audible alarm, though the documentation does not establish how reliably it wakes different people or whether it will suit your sleep habits. How to dismiss or snooze a ringing alarm
When an alarm rings on the Fitbit Air, firmly double tap the band to dismiss it. If you do not dismiss it, the alarm snoozes for nine minutes, according to Google’s Air-specific instructions.

Google’s general instructions describe setting alarms in the Google Health app, with the precise setup flow depending on the Fitbit model. The help page’s app flow is to open Connections, select your device, choose Alarms, add an alarm, set the time, optionally enable Smart Wake, choose the days or frequency, and save. App labels or flows may change, so follow the current instructions shown for your Air.

What Smart Wake does—and what it does not promise
Google describes Smart Wake as an optional feature that looks for a waking time in the 30 minutes before the alarm you set. If it does not find one, it falls back to the selected alarm time. This is a product feature description, not evidence that Smart Wake improves waking outcomes; check the instructions for your exact device rather than assuming the feature works identically across Fitbit models.
For example, Fitbit’s Charge 5 guide specifically describes Smart Wake as waking during a light sleep stage within the 30 minutes before the selected alarm. That model-specific wording should not be treated as a description of Air behavior. Fitbit’s Inspire 2 guide also describes a silent alarm and gentle wrist vibration, but it is documentation for that model.

Is a vibrating alarm a good fit for your mornings?
A wrist vibration may be useful if you want an alarm you can feel rather than one that relies on sound. The Air’s documented double-tap dismissal and nine-minute snooze give you a simple way to respond when it rings. Whether that feels like a game-changer depends on your own sleep, sensitivity to vibration, and morning routine; product documentation does not establish that it works equally well for everyone.
