T-Mobile does not publish a universal grace period guaranteeing that service will remain active for a set number of days after a bill is due. Its “less than 30 days past due” rule applies to eligibility for a postpaid payment arrangement—not to how long you can keep using service without paying. Check your account or contact T-Mobile promptly if you have missed a payment; the timing of any restriction depends on your account status.
Does T-Mobile give you a grace period?
The official guidance does not specify a fixed number of days you can go without paying before service is suspended. T-Mobile says an account that is unpaid or not in good standing may have service reduced, suspended, or terminated. It also says that paying the past-due balance is the way to keep active service. That means the 30-day payment-arrangement threshold should not be read as a promise of 30 days of uninterrupted service. T-Mobile’s payment-arrangement guidance and terms and conditions do not set a universal suspension date.

Can you set up a payment arrangement?
Eligible postpaid customers may be able to arrange payments while their account is less than 30 days past due. If a balance is 31 or more days past due, T-Mobile says it must be paid before an arrangement can be initiated. These are arrangement eligibility rules, not a guarantee that service will stay active until the cutoff. The cited guidance does not establish the same terms for prepaid accounts.

- Pay each installment by the date specified in the arrangement.
- Keep new bills that come due during the arrangement current by their due dates.
- If the arrangement schedules a future-dated payment, avoid paying early or using a different method for that payment; T-Mobile warns the system may not recognize it as part of the arrangement.
- AutoPay pauses during an active arrangement. T-Mobile says AutoPay discounts do not apply if the account is or becomes past due, and a failed arrangement will unenroll the account from AutoPay.
Missing the arrangement criteria can cause it to fail and may lead to suspension. If service restored through an arrangement is suspended again after the payment method is removed, T-Mobile says a one-time payment of the full past-due balance is needed to restore service. See T-Mobile’s payment-arrangement instructions.

What can happen if a bill stays unpaid?
T-Mobile says late fees may apply after the original due date. If an account is suspended, including partially suspended, for nonpayment, its payment-arrangement page lists a restoration fee of $20 per line, for up to three lines, plus applicable taxes. The same page warns that the per-line AutoPay bill credit will be lost until AutoPay is reactivated. These charges are separate from the past-due bill.
Under T-Mobile’s terms and conditions, customers remain responsible for charges through the end of their service term, including during suspension; charges may not be prorated while service is suspended for nonpayment. The agreement also says T-Mobile may charge a late fee up to the highest amount allowed by law.

The reviewed guidance does not give a fixed service-restoration time after payment. If service has already been suspended, confirm your balance and account status with T-Mobile instead of assuming that a posted payment means service is back immediately.
Quick Recap
What to do if you have missed a payment
- Sign in to your T-Mobile account or app and check the amount due, account status, and any payment-arrangement options.
- If you are an eligible postpaid customer and the account is less than 30 days past due, review the arrangement terms and make sure you can meet every installment date while keeping new bills current.
- If the account is 31 or more days past due, pay the overdue balance before trying to initiate an arrangement, as T-Mobile requires.
- Choose a payment method with its posting window in mind. T-Mobile estimates that mail and third-party cash transfers can take longer to post than electronic or in-store payments.
- If service is restricted or a payment does not appear, contact T-Mobile to confirm what remains due and whether service restoration is pending.
