Winning depends on how your pets’ stats, ability triggers, and positions work together—not on a single universally strongest team.
How a turn works
Each turn has two phases: preparation in the shop, followed by an automatic battle. The community-maintained Basics guide says players receive 10 gold by default at the start of a round. Pets and food cost gold; you can roll the shop for different options, freeze items to keep them for a later turn, and rearrange your team. You can field up to five pets, with a maximum of three on turn one.

Pets have attack, health, and abilities. Attack determines how much damage a pet deals when it hits; health determines how much damage it can take before fainting. The Pets reference describes pets as purchasable units with individual stats and abilities. It lists the purchase price as three gold and the team limit as five pets.

One free scan finds every outdated or missing driver and matches the right update for your exact hardware.Free scan · exact hardware matchHow automatic battles resolve
- Start-of-battle effects: Applicable abilities trigger before the first attack.
- First attack: Your rightmost pet attacks the opponent’s leftmost pet. Both pets’ attacks resolve simultaneously.
- Team advances: Fainted pets leave the battle, and the remaining pets move into the front positions.
- Combat continues: The next attacks resolve in the same way until one or both teams have no pets left. A team with survivors wins; if both teams are eliminated, the result is a draw.
This attack order makes placement part of your strategy. A pet at the right edge attacks first; one behind it may not attack until pets ahead of it faint. Abilities tied to neighbors, attack order, or fainting can therefore depend on where a pet starts and which teammates remain when its trigger occurs.

When shop tiers unlock
The shop adds access to higher pet tiers on alternating turns, according to the community wiki’s turn and tier reference. Reaching a new tier broadens the available shop pool; it does not mean every pet from a lower tier disappears.
| Turn | New tier access |
|---|---|
| 1 | Tier 1 |
| 3 | Tier 2 |
| 5 | Tier 3 |
| 7 | Tier 4 |
| 9 | Tier 5 |
| 11 | Tier 6 |
These are game-rule timings, not a guarantee that a particular pet will appear. Consider whether a plan can function before its key pets become available and whether it can adapt as the shop opens later tiers.

What pet levels change
Buying duplicate pets lets you merge them, gain experience, and level up. The Basics and Pets references say a level-up strengthens that pet’s ability. The Basics guide also describes a level-up choice of two pets from the next tier, with an exception when merging two level-two pets into a level-three pet.
Because these are community-maintained rules and game mechanics can change, check the live game’s rules before relying on level-up behavior for a particular patch or pack.

How to judge team synergy
Synergy is the way two or more pets’ abilities, stats, and positions reinforce a shared plan. The wiki’s strategy index gives Kangaroo plus Camel as an example pairing. The value of a pair depends on when its abilities trigger and how the pets are positioned; the example is not evidence that it is optimal in every pack or version.
- Timing and tier access: Can the plan work with the pets available now, and can it transition as new tiers unlock?
- Ability triggers: Do abilities activate at useful moments, and do their effects support one another?
- Stats and scaling: Are attack and health sufficient for upcoming fights, and does the team have a way to improve them?
- Positioning: Does the lineup put pets in the right order for adjacency, front-line attacks, or faint effects?
- Food and flexibility: Can food strengthen a key pet, and can you adjust if a needed shop piece does not appear?
Use these questions to compare possible plans rather than treating any named combination as a permanent best team. Pet stats, abilities, pack rosters, modes, and balance can change. The developer’s official site identifies Super Auto Pets and lists its platforms, but does not provide a gameplay rules manual; detailed mechanics here come from the community wiki.
