The student then installs mObywatel, selects Junior, sets a six-digit PIN and scans the school-ID QR code generated in ZPE—or enters its 32-character UUID. A parent or legal guardian can add the same ID in their regular mObywatel app.
What you need before setup
- School registration: The school must enter the student’s details and photo in the School Education Information System (SIO). The school also provides the student’s login details for the Integrated Educational Platform (ZPE). Government setup instructions.
- ZPE access: After the school registers the ID, the student signs in to ZPE and generates the QR code needed to add it. If the QR option is missing, ask the school to confirm the registration and ZPE access.
- Supported app version: The official setup page lists mObywatel 4.66.0 or later as the minimum for Junior. That is not a guarantee that every older phone is compatible; check the current app-store listing for the device’s operating-system requirements.
Set up the ID in the student’s Junior app
- Install mObywatel from Google Play or the App Store.
- Open the app and choose mObywatel Junior.
- Select a theme: energy, geometry or space.
- Create a six-digit app PIN. Avoid an easy-to-guess code.
- In ZPE, generate the student’s school-ID QR code. Scan it with the phone, or use the option in the official setup flow to enter the 32-character UUID instead.
- Users over 13 are prompted to accept mObywatel’s terms and privacy policy. A trusted profile is not required for this setup.
The student’s ID is then available in Junior. The official setup page gives the detailed flow: activate mObywatel Junior and add a school ID.

Add the student’s ID in a parent or guardian’s app
- Open the regular mObywatel app on the parent’s or guardian’s phone.
- Open Documents and choose the school ID.
- Scan the QR code available in the student’s ZPE account.
A parent or guardian can add IDs for multiple children or dependents. Government launch guidance says the school ID may be held independently on up to five mobile devices across the student, parents and guardians. The official sources describe the same digital ID in either storage route; they do not establish a feature difference based on which person’s app holds it. The government says the ID can be added independently on up to five mobile devices; the two routes are not described as having different ID features.

What the digital school ID can do
The ID displays the student’s details and validity status and can confirm student status for discounts and other student benefits. It works offline after it has been added. The initial setup still depends on the school’s SIO registration and the ZPE process to generate the QR code. See official school-ID guidance.
If the certificate expired after the August 2026 deadline
A notice dated 18 June 2026 told Junior users to log in by 5 August 2026 so the document certificate could renew. That deadline has passed. According to the notice, a child who did not log in by then has an expired certificate and cannot use the document. The stated recovery is to generate a new QR code through ZPE and add the document again. Follow the official certificate notice. It does not provide a device-specific recovery procedure; if a new code does not resolve the issue, contact mObywatel support or the school rather than guessing at phone settings.

Newer Junior documents announced in 2026
On 5 February 2026, the Ministry of Digital Affairs announced the Large Family Card and temporary electronic driving licence for Junior, requiring app version 4.75.0 or later. The announcement says the temporary licence is valid for 30 days within Poland and has eligibility conditions, including age requirements for category B. This is a dated release announcement, not a guarantee of current availability or eligibility; check the app or current official guidance. Read the ministry announcement.
