Secret Lair drops are curated releases of Magic: The Gathering cards sold through official online storefronts. They are generally available for a limited time, and most are limited print runs—but a particular drop’s listing controls its sale window, editions, purchase limits, and availability. For delivery, use the estimated release date in your confirmation email and the official Production and Shipping Status page: an estimated release date is not a dispatch date or a guaranteed arrival date.
How Secret Lair drop availability works
A drop is an exclusive selection of unique cards, usually four to eight. Secret Lair says most drops are printed in limited runs. Wizards announced in 2024 that it was shifting most of the product line from print-to-demand to limited print runs, while allowing for possible exceptions. That history does not establish the terms for any particular release.

Check the individual product listing for the details that apply. Listings may distinguish foil and non-foil editions and may state a sale window, per-customer limit, or availability language such as “available while supplies last.” The listing is the authority for that drop; scarcity or popularity alone is not enough to predict when it will sell out. Secret Lair product listings can change, so check the current page before ordering.
How long a Secret Lair order takes to ship
The official Shipping, Delivery, and Customs FAQ says an order can take up to three weeks to ship after the estimated release date listed in the order confirmation email. A separate preorder explainer describes the shipping stage as taking up to 30 days from release and notes that international shipments can take additional time. These statements use different reference points; neither is a guaranteed delivery date.

- Save the confirmation email. It includes your estimated release date and order details. Keep your order ID for reference.
- Check the live status tracker. The Production and Shipping Status page posts drop-level estimates and notices. Its stages mean: Pre-Production is preparation for manufacturing; In Production is active production; Preparing for Fulfillment means production is complete and items are moving to the fulfillment provider; Shipping means orders are actively shipping; and Shipping Completed means orders are with the carrier and en route.
- Look for tracking. The preorder explainer says a tracking link is sent to the email on file when a shipping label is created. Tracking may not show movement immediately. It advises contacting customer support if tracking is still absent after 30 days from release; check the tracker for newer drop-specific updates as well.
Shipping options, regions, and customs
Separate shipments for different release dates
If one order includes drops or bundles with different release dates, split shipping may be offered. When available, the option appears in the Shipping section at checkout alongside the estimated release dates. It is not listed as a universal option for every order.

These are official FAQ terms, not a guarantee that every order or destination qualifies. Confirm the threshold and shipping charge in the relevant storefront checkout.

Destinations and import charges
The FAQ divides eligible destinations among US, EU, and UK storefronts. Country coverage can change, so check the current destination list in the official shipping FAQ and verify that your country is selectable at checkout.

For eligible US-store orders under $2,500 to listed regions, the FAQ says Scalefast collects and pays applicable import fees and customs duties on the customer’s behalf; this is DDP (Delivered Duty Paid). Some orders are DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid), meaning local customs may request fees or duties from the buyer. Sales tax and customs charges are different types of charges. Check the checkout terms and destination-specific rules for your order rather than assuming one treatment applies everywhere.

Before a preorder is billed, order management may let you update the shipping address or payment method. Changing the address in your account’s address book does not automatically update an existing order. Once payment is processed or shipping has started, online edits may no longer be available; contact support if you need help.

If a drop is on backorder, the confirmation email gives an estimated release-date window. The support FAQ says Wizards will email when the date is confirmed; the status tracker is the place to check for current updates.

What to check before placing an order
- The current listing’s sale window, availability wording, edition, contents, and per-customer limit.
- The estimated release date and any current notice on the Production and Shipping Status page.
- Whether split shipping is offered if your order includes items with different release dates.
- Your storefront’s shipping threshold, checkout cost, destination eligibility, and customs treatment.
- The cancellation or order-change terms that apply to your region and the order’s billing or shipping state.

Can I still buy a Secret Lair drop after it sells out?
Availability is controlled by the individual product listing. Check that page for its current stock or sale status; the general description of drops does not guarantee restocks.
Where can I check the shipping status of my drop?
Use the Production and Shipping Status page for drop-level estimates and notices, and keep your order confirmation email for its estimated release date and order ID.
